Abortion... A controversial topic maybe?

In some places around the world it’s frowned upon and people are shunned for it. In some places it’s perfectly legal and is even a free service provided for eligible individuals.

In New Zealand, abortion is legal and you can terminate anytime right up till 14 weeks. In Australia you can terminate up till 24 weeks gestation! (But with strict criteria).

Now for a brief insight to how far along the pregnancy may be at those dates:

14 weeks: the baby can squint, frown, grimace and pee! Sometimes even suck their thumbs. They are approximately the size of lemon.

24 weeks: the baby is almost the length of an ear of corn! (subway foot long size) And your belly can be size of a soccer ball. The baby can hear your voice, their faces are fully formed and can breath air instead of fluid.

What are your thoughts, again I’m more biased towards the medical field and sciences behind it and feel that people should have their own choice/ opinions in regards to pregnancy and termination.

Just a common argument i hear among pro-choice activists. what is your opinion on it? Agree or disagree?

With the latest has shooting targeting worshippers at a church, it lead me to think about WHERE these shootings have happened. Here are some examples that come to mind (in order of my memory recall):

- A famous historic black church
- A baseball field at a public park
- A night club predominantly frequented by gay attendees
- A country music concert
- A Sikh temple
- A post office
- A downtown area (targeting police officers)
- A college campus
- An elementary school
- A high school
- An army base
- An outdoor barbecue gathering by employees
- A women's health clinic
- And most recently, a baptist church

People of all walks on life, in different parts of the country are the victims of these attacks.

Of the mass shootings mentioned above, I think that a number if then can be classified as terrorist attacks by radical Islamists, white supremacists, and one was particularly anti-police. The Planned Parenthood shooter had an anti-abortion agenda, and I would group him with abortion clinic bombers. The rest seem to have been perpetrated by lone deranged individuals.

On the other hand, there were two vehicular attacks that happened recently, one in New York by an Islamist extremist, and in Charlottesville by a white supremacist.

There are 3 important approaches that are constantly debated:
- Stricter gun control, sometimes rising to the point of making all it certain types of weapons
- Mental health screening and care
- (Last, but not least) Anti-terrorism efforts, both against foreign and domestic threats

My personal opinion is that the debate about what exactly what to do isn't as important as actually trying to do something. For example, I keep hearing (mostly) Republican politicians emphasizing mental health as a problem, but don't seem to support legislation that promotes it.

What do you all think? What is your opinion on what needs to be done? Focus on one thing, tackle all aspects, or nothing needs to be done? I'm open to a variety of opinions.
