I've been dating someone on and off for over a year and a half, we've dated other people intermittently in this time, but we always seem to fallback to each other. I've always known that my feelings for him were stronger than what he feels for me, which is partially why we've never really worked out long term. Its just crazy to me that after all this time & after dating other people we always come back to eachother. Our relationship has been rocky, passionate, and complicated to say the least. We're both single and have been "hooking up" very far and few in between for months (since he and his last girlfriend broke up in august).

I recently bought him an expensive item of clothing from his fave brand for Christmas, but im having second thoughts on giving it to him based on the fact that he hasn't been there for me lately. Things are reasonably good between us ( we saw eachother a couple of days ago and had an amazing sleepover & great sex) however i've been going through some hard times and he just hasn't been there for me or put in much of an effort outside of when we're together in Person. I even vocalised that I needed him at this time, & he really hasn't been putting in much effort to contact me or even ask how im doing. Do you think I should give him the gift I bought? I know he would probably really appreciate it and possibly even see me in a different light because despite our differences I thought of him enough to pick out exactly what he likes.. On the other hand I dont want to be looked at as a doormat who will go out of my way for him with nothing in return. If you were in his shoes how would you react to recieving a gift like that? and Secondly should I give him the gift ultimately or not? Is it weird to give someone you're not officially dating a gift like that, I do consider him a friend? I just dont even know.

1. Celebrate Christmas with his or her family.
2. You and your special someone goes to a nice restaurant and enjoy Christmas dinner.
3. Ice skating!
4. Exchange Christmas presents and cuddle under the fire while sipping hot chocolate.
5. Drive around the nieghborhood and look at all the beautiful Christmas light decorations.
7. Watch funny Christmas movies all day while eating sweat homemade Christmas snacks with her or him.
8. You & your special someone go to a Christmas party with friends and enjoy great food and wine.

9. You guys cook up a meal together & have Christmas dinner at his or her place. (Someone might get naughty) Lol
10. Go to his or her church together and celebrate the lords birthday!

There's this guy and I really like him but he is a sophomore and I am a senior (both high school). Age really isn't the problem because I've only dated guys younger than me. I don't know if he likes me though. I've known him for about 10 months but have been friends with him for 5. He likes to FaceTime, talk on the phone and snapchat. One time he FT me when I was on the way home and I had just woke up and had my hair up and looked rough and he told me I looked pretty and I was 'rockin the messy bun'. He also likes to make faces at me so that I will smile. We take selfies together and when I ask him to take a picture with me he doesn't object. We got into an argument after school one day and he left and called me about 20 minutes later asking me to meet him at Chickfila so we could work things out. He likes to flick me and I punch him back and he laughs and I ask him why he does that and he said twice on two different occasions is because he thinks it's funny when I'm mad. Friday we went with a group of friends to Zoo Lights and on the way there we were talking about driving my car into the wall and I said we would die and he said 'at least we'd be together'. We were at a red light and he wanted to arm wrestle so we did, and then he took my hand (my right in his right) and waffled it. He then told me I waffled wrong and then we proceeded to wrestle. Walking to the zoo, my hand accidentally hit his and I didn't want to be awkward so I moved my hand closer to me and he swung his back so his would hit mine. He exclaimed out loud 'are you trying to hold my hand?' and I said 'no...' and then he took my hand and said 'well you waffle wrong anyway' and held my hand while we continued to walk. We aren't dating but our team asks if we are or if we're a thing. He's supposedly told friends he doesn't like me but he doesn't really flirt with other girls. If y'all could give me advice and/or opinions that would be great!:) Thank you!! PS He just asked what I wanted for Christmas

My boyfriend is coming over tonight. I wanted to surprise him with a late candle light romantic dinner. He won't be over until 7 and I was planning on wearing something a bit sexy and doing a sweet dinner for him, wine candles music etc.

He told me last night he wants to come over, eat, go to a Christmas display that closes at 830, then grab a drink and come home.

We seldom are at my house (I live in the country, all cool stuff is around him) so I don't know when my next chance to do the surprise thing may be, at least not til after Christmas. On the other hand, this is our last chance to do the Christmas event and he does love this event. I didn't tell him I was counting on something else; I'm torn.

Such a dumb thing to be undecided over, lol.

So... out of these choices, help me out:

This is the time of year that it is hardest for me to be positive.

I have been single my whole life (23 years. old). I will enjoy the Christmas time for like 5 minutes and then I'll see or hear about a couple and just get in a down mood 😞. So it ends up being like a roller coaster of emotions. Like oh how beautiful! The lights, the spirit! And then my mind goes to thinking how I just want someone to share it with and then all that joy fades away. It's still beautiful, but it seems empty. (I live in NYC by the way.)

I try my best to like the holidays and I have good moments like ice skating and hot chocolate with friends etc...

But my mind always fantasizes to another time when I get to experience the holidays with a boyfriend. It takes away from the now. 😞 I know my thinking is wrong. But I can't stop it.
