Search Results: hiding feelings

I know a lot of you have strong feelings about this. I have some as well. Though I do not have a strong opinion about whether it exists or not, I do want it to be fair and just, and not easily manipulated. That's what I don't like. So let's hash out some ideas about how it could be better structured.

1. Should block system exist at all?
2. Someone posts a comment on your own q. Before you have a chance to reply, they block you. Now you are blocked from replying on your own topic. What should be done about this?
3. Should one user blocking you within a thread prevent you from commenting to all others in thread?
4. Should there be a visual/colour indicator specifying which of the users (or both) are doing the blocking? (If this existed, it would fix the 'surprise' after composing a reply and then finding out you cannot Submit), which wastes a lot of time.
4. Do you think it fair to provide a list of who is blocking you?
5. Do you think a reason needs to be given, for their decision to block? Should this be enforced? (Like a specific quote, or an attachment to a specific post?) Or should it all stay anon?
6. If you believe a reason is necessary, would you have the self-restraint not to go after that person, once you knew they blocked you?
7. When you block, do you want to continue to see their posts? (The on/off Setting exists, applies to all blocks, not case-by-case blocks. Is the latter necessary?)
8. After a certain specific number of blocks, confirmed by the admins (not users, site official admins) should there be a penalty? What penalty?
9. Do you think that the bigger problem is too many blocks and sensitive users, or too many aggressive and opinionated users?

(NO ANON COMMENTS. So play nice, speak your mind, but do it thoughtfully and civilly. No hiding behind anonymity so you can be harsher. Yep, people may challenge your opinions.
