I dated my most recent ex for a month and a half. It never got real serious and it was ended very abruptly by him one random day. He said he just "wasn't feeling it" and that he only wants to date for marriage... etc etc. We haven't spoken in a month...

A couple weeks ago I was getting coffee and randomly started talking to this guy. Turns out, we have friends in common. Namely, the ex... I don't think this guy has made the connection though. We've been talking every day over text message, but we haven't gotten together. I don't really think we're dating and both of us are fine with just being friends. I have a feeling we're going to hang out together after break. He is definitely in the same social circle as my most recent ex.

The breakup with my most recent ex was... fine. I was sad for a few days, but really our personalities didn't mesh at all. I was so on edge with him all the time. There were particular topics we couldn't talk about and he liked to be emotionally distant. It got old fast. We hardly ever had meaningful conversations... because he never seemed interested. He pretty much said this is what I want in life and if you don't think that works then you need to leave asap. He was super type A and very inflexible. I'd say.

This new guy seems really nice so far! I don't want to awkwardly go to a party with him and run into my ex's friends OR him though... should I tell either one of them? I don't want to piss of the ex though. I mean, our relationship didn't end badly by any means. I kind of agreed with him when he broke up with me. I miss our friendship, sort of, but mostly only miss the physical stuff he provided... we had no emotional connection and it just sucked. I frequently wonder how he feels about it though...

He said friends after a relationship never works. Now I may be hanging out with him and his friends again. If he dumped me, will he be upset to see me with one of his friends? It's been a month... and it won't be another month until I even hang out with this guy since we have a break from school coming up... likely it'll be 2-3 months after I broke up with guy #1... and we only dated a month and a half... and it ended alright...? I'm still nervous! How bad is this going to be?
