This guy Jake and I have worked together for 4 months. We are both awkward and VERY shy. He has NO experience with girls and has never had a girlfriend. He gives me mixed signals and flirts or doesn’t flirt. After a month of dealing with his BS I asked him (note he ran away and avoided talking to me direct 3 times prior to this) he very hesitantly rejected me and then instantly felt bad. I was upset and for whatever reason he was upset too. He briefly talked about it with my friend on Saturday and he said he felt really bad and he doesn’t even know himself if he actually meant what he said. Today we worked together and I avoided him like the plague (because I was still hurt) but he tried to get me to talk and was trying not to be awkward about it (which people were impressed he did it because he’s always awkward). I wouldn’t talk to him and would give him dirty looks and walk fast past him. He also saw me looking like I was about to cry and he looked like he felt really bad. There’s also a new guy at work and he was flirting with me but then stopped when Jake came into the picture and Jake looked very jealous about the new guy but the guy completely backed off with flirting with me. He also kept coming down and looking for me as he walked (I worked in a different area tonight). Jake was flirting with me because he was getting very close to me and making jokes and going oh yeah I think you need help with that in like a low tone with a grin while we were standing next to each other and Jake sat right next to me when that new guy was sitting across the table from us and Jake was taking my stuff and just being really flirty. I don’t get it And at one point tonight we were both so close and looking at each other like we were gonna kiss but then I stopped it and was like Jake aren’t you supposed to be in (his area) and he’s like maybe with a grin and I walked away and was like bye Jake. And. He’s like cya on Saturday on the way out and I’m like yep bye Jake lol

I have a huge crush on this one guy, we're friendly and we like to hang out and talk. Lately, he seems a lot more flirty, such as he maintains way more eye contact and stares at me much more frequently. My friends' notes he becomes much more nervous when we talk such as avoiding eye contact, nervous smiling. All of my friends are always asking me if there's something between me and this kid, and even the teachers say so too. He's a very nice yet sort of shy guy and he's average looking although I know of two other girls who like him as well. He loves teasing me and makes it a usual conversation starter. He initiates most of the conversations and usually seeks me out whenever he can. Although, there are sometimes where he completely ignores me and/or stares at me but doesn't say anything, however, he usually does ends up talking to me in the end. We're in different classes but he usually waits for me after class and/or walks with me to my next class. I have a gut feeling he likes me, however, I do feel like he is a flirt and social media makes me a lot more apprehensive. He comments really flirty emojis on these few girl's pages but they all have two things in common, they're way out of his league and/or they have boyfriends. He also has a lot of female friends too. But he doesn't completely ignore me either, he sends me these weird posts every 3-5 days but what irritates me is that when I respond he could sometimes continue the conversation but then sometimes doesn't. He also views my stories almost religiously. So what I'm asking is... does this guy really like me? Is he playing games? (Note: I try not to make it obvious I like him and sometimes play hard to get/ be mean to him) . Could he know I like him and be leading me on?

There’s a guy that has been flirting with me for about a month. He is super shy. Never been in a relationship or done anything with a girl. We both look at each other a lot and it always looks like he’s trying to suppress a smile. He is always in the area I’m in, even if it’s not directly by me. He goes out of his way to help me do things even when I never asked him for help. He does smile and laugh with me but when we talk it’s very vague. He did sit near me at lunch but now will sit across from me. He sometimes stands right beside me. Sometimes he looks annoyed with me and will avoid me and sometimes he gives a sheepish grin and will talk and his face gets all red. We both have this fight or flight response and whenever we are uncomfortable we flight. I’m shy myself too. I overheard People saying that he wears a shit ton of cologne (just started doing that about a month ago) because he likes me and he only does it on days we work together. I follow him on twitter but he doesn’t follow me back. I also asked him hesitantly to talk after work and he said he would stay but not even 20 minutes later he was one of the first people to leave. I also have done that with him when he tried to stay after to talk to me before, just the two of us, I speed walked super fast out of there. We are both super hesitant to talk to each other and when we do we get embarrassed easily and then avoid each other like no other. That’s our flight response. We both also don’t talk to each other when other people are around. How do I get him to stay and actually talk to him? He also has no problem talking to anybody else at work it’s just with me and I don’t know why.
