I am basically from North India but was born and raised in USA. My wife is white.
Well me and my wife adopted these two cute twin baby sisters. They are white and I love them so much.
We both wanted to adopt so as to make a huge difference in a child's life by being his/her parents.
I have seen many people looking at us as they walk by when we are in a park or playing and some stare.
Some seem nice but many are bad stares.
Two ladies came and polietly asked me what I was doing with the girls and I explained that they were my daughters.
But once this lady came and asked stupid questions and it seemed like she was 'angry' that I adopted white kids. My wife had to step in and tell her that they were 'our' kids so she should take a hike.

C'mon is it really 'something to question or stare at' . It is just 'A dad with his little girls'.
Be honest how do you react to such a situation.

1. Do nature or nurture affect people most? It can be personality, looks, sexuality, mental illnesses etc.
A = Nature
B = Nurture
C = 50 - 50

2. Which theory is most positive?
A = That one saying nature affects mostly.
B = That one saying nurture affects you mostly.
C = That one saying it's 50/50.

My Opinion:
1) I think looks are ca. 80% nature and 20% environment, while personality/how you're as a person is 80% nurture and 20% nature. It's just my guess. I don't believe in Robert Plomin's theory about everything being determined by genetics and the parents not having much influence. I guess parents can affect their children's intelligence by the way they raise them. Even if they're adopted. People raised in a good healthy environment also tends to be nicer, politer, more intelligent, less criminal and function better than those one raised in horrible conditions.

2) I think it's most optimistic to think so. It's because of if you think people are born "bad", you won't give people a second chance to change as easily. If you believes most things are affected by the environment, the society can try to make a better environment so more people would improve themselves and their own behavior. Even psychopaths may behave better in a good environment than a bad one. If most things are genetics, we gets a "We gives people up" and "It's pointless to try to change them" mentality in addition to the society aren't encouraged to change to do more good for more people. I think nature talent do exist in some cases, but I likes to believe everyone are capable to learn something and be good at it if they tries hard enough.
