Interracial adoption = When the adoptive child doesn't look like the adoptive parents - like having a different skin or hair color, facial features etc. E. g. a blonde Nordic person adopting a dark child from Africa.
I don't understand the controversy around it. To me it sounds nice that loving parents wants to take care of a child like their own, so the child doesn't have to stay an orphan, be poor and unloved. Not every biological children resembles their parents either, so I don't really see the issue. Why do some have problems with interracial adoption?
It's stupid because they're investing in the future of someone who has no link to them.
For me, I would not be in a relationship with a single mother. Why? Because if I'm going to invest my time and energy into raising children, I'm going to invest in my own biological children. That's the way nature works. Why would a male animal work to help pass on another male's genes? They wouldn't. Chimps, lions, wolves, bears etc. Fight for the right to reproduce, to pass on their genes. To allow another male to impregnate the female they want would be to weed themselves out of the gene pool, which makes no sense evolutionarily speaking. This is also why many men become homicidal if they catch their girl cheating.
If they're adopting then it's most likely because they can't have children, sure. But then there are many children from their own culture who need homes. Children who share the same heritage, who can then once they grow up continue to keep that culture alive. In order for anybody to keep the culture alive, they usually need a link to it. Why would someone whose roots are elsewhere keep that culture alive?
You've spoken about Nordic culture and viking culture before. You don't see a problem with the indigenous Norwegians or Swedes being replaced with middle-eastern and African people, because you think those people will perpetuate that culture. That race doesn't matter. In reality because their roots lie elsewhere, they'll just replace your culture with African/Middle-Eastern culture and stay true to their roots.
So that Nordic couple who adopt non-whites are raising kids who share little in common with them at all. Because they're no longer proud of their culture, sometimes even because they hate it. The only reason they'd choose an African over a Nord would be to virtue signal "hey look at what a great liberal I am I'm adopting an African kid instead of a Nordic kid".
That couple who are blonde and their kid is a POC, that's probably not even his. But Europeans have been so cucked nowadays that like I said, you people willingly bring about your own replacement and the destruction of your own culture with this bullshit.
1. Humans and other animals species are different in many ways. Example humans being able to think of religion, politics, conscience, ethics etc. and other species don't. Although humans and other species have a lot in common doesn't mean there's no differences. Therefor it may not be as unnatural for humans to adopt as for some other species.
2. Yes, I'm agree people should adopt more within their own country. In Norway there's not that many children in the system because most unwanted children gets aborted away; Ca. 15 000 per year. The children without parents are older children that no one wants to adopt anyway because of their age and adoption here is taboo. People prefer adopting an infant from abroad than older children within the country. I think it's sad they won't adopt the older children and our adoption system is broken, but that doesn't mean it's wrong to adopt orphans abroad. Infants aren't the same as grown up refugees and immigrants. An infant would adopt the same culture as the adoptive family.
3. I'm adopted myself and I'm no different than other ethnic Norwegians. I do the same thing as most Norwegians. We celebrates the Norwegian version of Christmas, our national day 17th May, Russefeiring etc. I've even tried skiing. I'm a social-democrat like the majority and I believe in the modern gender equality, not traditional gender roles like many of the middle-eastern and African people. My parents and I are both proud Norwegians. My color doesn't matter. I knows a lot of other adoptive skiing, eating fish, participating in the democracy etc. Most adoptive don't like the African, Asian etc. culture and prefer their own culture from my experience.
Because they don't want to admit they just don't like white people. So they'll say it's "wrong" white people are adopting children of other races instead. While at the sametime complaining about how people adopt foreign children, when we have so many American children who could use a good home.
You'll never see people complaining about a Black family adopting children of another ethnic group. The best test for whether or not something is actually a controversy is inserting a non white person in that role. If the reaction would be the same, then it's actually controversial. If it's not, then they just don't like white people.
I'm agree, but I've heard about the controversy around a none-Western couple taking care of an ethnic British and white girl in the news once too. So it may go the other way too, but not as frequently as when white people adopts children.

In my country Norway most biological children looks like their parents and have similar or same hair color, but there's many cases this isn't the case. I've seen a family where the parents were both mixed. They had black hair, but blue eyes. Two of their children turned brunette with hazel eyes, two gingers with blue eyes and one hazel blonde with green eyes. Although one of the children was brunette and married a brunette man, all of their four children turned blonde. In the childhood they were all platinum blonde.
I've also met a Pakistani looking woman having a child with a brunette man, but the child turned platinum blonde with blue-green eyes and extremely pale. Genetics aren't always as simple. It can skip several generations and traits can be hidden for a long time before appearing again.
I've also seen some cases where two blonde parents had a child passing as a "POC" before. It's not common, but not very uncommon either. It's not extremely rare.
No issues but if you take on interracial children you need to give them the option of connecting to their culture as well as being able to give them proper treatment such as Correct hair products. Basically you need to be culturally aware.
Some people are racist. Some people believe that a child should be raised within the culture of his or her race. Some people believe that parents of the same race are in a better position to understand the problems and conflicts that a child will have as they develop. Some people perceive that adoptive parents opt for a different race adoption to make a statement about how liberal and non-racist they are.
I live near a city that’s a mecca for lesbians, so i see a lot of lesbian parents, often white, with adopted kids. Those kids are very often not white. An issue, from what I’ve heard, is that white babies are in very high demand, just by way of some many of the people in the country being white, and wanting a “matching” baby. But I think the supply line of white babies doesn’t keep up with the demand, so some people have to get what they can get if they want a baby. So unless you’re some kind of asshole, you should be happy to adopt ANY baby, lmao, regardless of if they can pass for your own or not. That may be part of the desire for a matching baby, you can probably keep up the ruse longer until you feel you can break it to them, whereas the questions about why you look nothing alike will come earlier with a “BOC (baby of color😂). In the case of the lesbian women though, I think those questions will be coming somewhat early whether the baby matches them or not, haha.
For me, I think it’s all well and fine. Adopt whatever kid you want, give them a good upbringing... that’s really all that’s important.
For example, in Australia, between 1910-1970, many Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their families as a result of various government policies. These children are referred to as the Stolen Generation.
Children who were taken from their parents as part of the Stolen Generation were taught to reject their Indigenous heritage and forced to adopt white culture. Their names were often changed, and they were forbidden to speak their traditional Aboriginal languages. Some children were adopted by white families, and many were placed in institutions where abuse and neglect were common problems.
The forcible removal of Indigenous children from their families was part of the policy of Assimilation. Assimilation was based on the assumption of black inferiority and white superiority, which proposed that Indigenous people should be allowed to “die out” through a process of natural elimination, or, where possible, should be assimilated into the white community.
Obviously, this whole thing never worked out. It was only in 2008, did the government publicly offer an apology to indigenous Australians. No form of compensation or reparations were made.
I don't think its the act of adopting a child that is not the same race as the parent per say so much as the reason behind it. I think some may be against it because they think that some how, as some have suggested, its "white washing" and trying to remove the childs culture. Personally I think that's idiotic, culture is taught, it has nothing to do with race. Others have an issue with it because they think that the persons motives are not "pure". Like the celebrities who adopt African babies, almost like its a fad. Do they really care or is it a publicity stunt? This is why I would be weary of it, if they love the child and its not for publicity or for the sake of virtue signaling (basically trying to show that they are a good person because if they where not then they wouldn't have adopted a black/Asian/what have you child (which is decidedly not virtuous but rather selfish)) then its fine, a child needs a home and they are willing to give it then that is fantastic. Its just the motive that I think most people are questioning.
Have you ever read that article about the "savior complex"? I think that might be one of the reasons. I've heard people say that maybe the adoptive parents have "bad intentions". I honestly don't think anyone would purposely go through that long, expensive process to hurt a child though...
I don't have an issue with it at all unless the parent doesn't teach the child about their original culture and ethnicity because that's a big part of them regardless of if u adopted them. If a white person wants to adopt a black child then fine but teach the black child to be comfortable in their own skin bc if not then they might grow up lost and confused
The argument can be about culture, but what child of 1 year old adopted a significant amount of culture from said country. The kid can probably not talk, barely move around, likely lived in a shit place and such.
There's no culture to lose for the kid. Unless we're arguing from the perspective of the kids parents, but EVIDENTLY they have already accepted their kid not being theirs. They have already renounced their authority related to the kid, they are pretty irrelevant.
Then one could bring up 'its destroying the future of (insert ethnicity)' but I can't be bothered to talk about that nonsense.

Some do have a problem. But it is their own stupid mindset due to which they can't see the individuals as a family but rather as people of different backgrounds. I am of Northern Indian descent (I look almost like a Latino due to lighter skin tone than the normal Indian but not like my daughters) My wife is white and we adopted these two cute twin baby sisters who are also white. People look at us when they are with me and playing with me. Some look at us in a nice way but some are bad. I sometimes feel bad because we can't escape the stares but when those little ones run into my arms calling me Daddy none of those idiots stares matter. I know it I am their Dad and they are my precious little girls. If anyone has a problem with that they can shove it.
I don't think it is a problem as long as there is no compulsion or exploitation involved. But it is still a good idea to gather knowledge about their original ethnicity and their culture just to be aware of where the kids have come from. Even if the kid will not be growing up with that culture, it's still helpful to have parents who are aware.
First of all, you make a huge assumption that people who adopt are "nice loving" people. I assure you that many are not. Many people who adopt children of other races know nothing of that child´s race and don´t care. Please learn your history. North America and British colonialism are both founded on the concept that whiteness is superior to any other race. The slave trade was based on this, slavery in America was based on this belief, and British colonialism was driven by this belief. Are you totally unaware of what was done to native children----the attempt of good white Christians who wanted to erase any hint of native culture from the children they adopted? Are you unaware of the forced adoptions of black children in Nova Scotia!!! And these are just the historical problems. These adopted children are rarely taught about their own culture and rarely have opportunities to interact with people of their birth culture!!!
Some people are just idiot bigots. I don’t have an issue with it at all but I will admit I do not like when folks do it for the sake of appearance and praise. I’d also prefer if non-black people educated themselves more about maintaining 4c/4b hair PRIOR to adopting black babies (particularly girls)😂
The reason I can think of is that it contributes to a larger and larger marginalization of a given ethnic people, given that some demographics, like white Scandinavians for example, aren't reproducing much, certainly not in the same manner as their immigrants. And that adopting inter-racially rather than having biological children advances the risk of white people becoming minorities in their own country. And vice versa with other nationalities, South Africa perchance.
Why does that matter if the adoptive children has the same culture and values as their parents? Adoptive children tends to be the same as the native population. They're not like refugees and immigrants with another culture.
True. But many people, whether by racist notions or less so, have an inclination to be proud of their ethnicity and the accomplishments of their people. Which eludes to a feeling of having their culture, their identity and their countries stolen, their history and accomplishments taken credit for by other ethnicities in ever growing numbers who claim to be just as much an inherent part of it all as them, despite their ancestors having no ties or legacy there etc. I mean it's been happening in South Africa. Large groups of black people are ousting white farmers and generally assailing whites, saying that they are taking back the land that was stolen from them.
There is nothing directly wrong with it itself but it is a choice to put the child through some vary awkward points in life like your alright for a black guy and your the whitest black guy I know although that not on the practice itself but the failing of society

My cousin and her wife adopted two children of a different race.
Needless to say they'll both not only learn that babies don't happen between two females, but also that the two white females aren't the same race as them. Meaning that when they learn (which I'm pretty sure they have by now) that they're adopted will become less shocking, as it's a very supportive couple taking care of them.
Nobodies race is ever going to make them feel like they belong, but unconditional love and regard for each other can go a LONG way for children no matter what race their parents may be.
I think I'll probably end up adopting just because being an unwanted child sucks, and both of my cousins kid's biological parents are in jail. So when life hits you hard I think if I ever want to be a dad, I'll probably stick with taking care of those who have nobody, regardless of race.
1. We have enough children in need in our countries. Orphans, children where the parents died, etc. 2. Because especially Africa as a whole continent is being rewarded for pumping out 5+ children per woman and creating issues with overpopulation. 3. Lots of virtue signaling.
Dociety needs to move away from race being an issue. It really shouldn't matter. Its just a dact of evolutuon, humans in different environments adapted to their surroundings. That includes increased melatonin in the skin. You cut us, we all bleed red. I thinkhthere's naybe more an issue if cultural differences. Depending on the child, taking them away from their roots, culture and native language could be stressful, cause some damage. I'm sure there arw studues on it.

I don’t think there is anything wrong it. The most important thing is that the child is happy. The kind of people who would complain about this are the same kind of people who would never adopt a child themselves.
It can cause mental health problems down the line, including low self esteem and identity issues. However, staying in the original culture can cause problems too, and may supersede the former, so whether it is right to adopt interracially is usually only ever seen years later, and is determined on an individual basis.
It's better if a child is raised by member of their own race. Races of people evolved to be together they fit with each other. Of course in the case of orphans sometimes you have to take what you can get.
Just looks? That which shapes our bones, our teeth, decides which diseases we are susceptible or resistant to, decides our hormone levels, which drugs work on us somehow does not affect the way we think and the cultures we form? In which world is this possible?
The reason why most interracial adoptions are white couples adopting non-white children is because there are more non-white children then there are white children who are up for adoption. White children are in high demand but low supply in most adoption agencies. This results in the competition for white children to be VERY stiff and VERY expensive. In addition to that, a couple can easily be waiting for years before an eligible white child pops up in their area.
Adopting Black, Asian or Hispanic children is less competitive and cheaper. If a couple truly wants to be a parent, they can become parents much sooner if they are open to all races. However, if they strictly want a white child, then they're going to be waiting for several years before they can become parents.
@Starrk, I've heard it's often the case because of white children tends to live in wealthier families and therefor they doesn't tend to be put up for adoption as frequently in addition to they're often from a richer country, so the system is different and most Nordics who can't take care of their children tends to abort them away instead. In Scandinavia for instance it's a taboo to put your own children up for adoption and therefor the majority of women in an unfortunately situation abort them away.
I'm adopted and knew it from I was five years old. I didn't have much problems with it. Looking different than my parents itself isn't a problem, but strangers choose to come with weird comments and questioning everything. My parents have never pretended to be my biological ones and I've never claimed them to be so either. Yes, I do call them "my real parents" because they're so, but it's not the same as saying they're my biological ones.
Sure, I agree that a parent is whoever raised you and it doesn't have to be biological. I do think though that many people who are totally set to only adopt a child from the same racial or ethnic background as themselves do so because they don't want people to know they adopted a child, like they only want a child that actually looks similar to themselves. Is that stupid? Absolutely.
As I lived there since I was 6, I knew very little of my Latin or African cultures. My parents never did anything relating to the holidays or culture from either country they are from. Truly Americanized. Grandparents however, are a different story... They still all the things they used to before leaving.
Race/cultural bias. "Oh , they won't have an opportunity to grow up as (insert racial type here)." So what? Obviously, that group failed them, or they wouldn't BE up for adoption.
It still continues to amaze me, no matter how often I see it, how people will have a such a tribalistic mentality, and that is all race comes down to. There is nothing wrong with interracial adoption and in fact there could be benefits to it.

@Ámayas_20 I think the opposite skin colour makes a difference. Also smaller things like hairtype. It looks different to me, but it's not necessarily a bad thing.
Hair color and race are related. There are many human phenotype or "races" with quite similar facial features, but different hair colors. Hair, eye and skin color are all "racial" characteristics. A Scandinavian tends to be on the blonde or ginger spectrum, while a South-European tends to have dark brown or black hair.
@PrettyRegular It's just not true that they're so different, most racial differences are cultural which would be eliminated in these circumstances. All that's left is physical differences, no physical difference should change anything for any human being. I'm sorry but I cannot see anyone who views this as an issue as anything but either ignorant or just plain racist.

If proper care is taken it's fine but there is a lot of unscrupulous practices in the adoption practices of African countries. There have been many kids that had their birth-mothers tricked.

I've met people that were adopted by parents of a different race. A lot of them had identity issues. It's not as simple as saying "ignorance" or "racist".
because then people will definitely know the kid ain't theirs not that suddenly arriving with a 5 year old that you didn't have have the day before isn't a big enough clue or anything
There is one race. Humans. If people have problems with such thing they are an actual problem. I have 2 cousins that were adopted "offshore" so to say and I love them.

Most people who adopt outside their race are doing it for “prestige” or some alternative purpose. Like Angelia Jolie, has African kids because it’s stylish, makes her seem worldly, etc.
Concept like wealth is relative, just like time and space is. Americans for example find an 100 years old church old, while Europeans find its brand new. Driving 3 hours to visit family in Europe is a long drive while in the USA its only a short distance. Same counts for wealth. Unfortunately the western view prevails.
Although wealth is relative, it still doesn't change the fact that most Scandinavians have more money than people in Ghana. Because of that it's more common for Scandinavians and other Europeans to adopt people from Africa than the other way around.
No it isn't more common because of that reason. Its because Europeans believe they are the world humanitarian super power. We do not have any humanitarian duties towards non-European peoples. Migrants in Europe their reproduction is above replacement rate, while Europeans their reproduction is below replacement rate, interracial adoption does more bad than good.
You Turks are legit a mixture of nomadic Central Asians and past Anatolians Europeans. you guy are the result of interracial mixing if you like it or not.
