Search Results: my best friend gets mad because of my boyfriend

Okay so I am currently involved in a unhappy friendship with my ex boyfriend. I like him but he doesn't like me back that way. So he of course rejected me, & then he started saying all of this sweet stuff. Like I am one of his best friends and that I am a great person & that he cares about me a lot. And that he doesn't want to hurt me because every time we date he hurts me in some way. And that I am one of the coolest girls he has ever met. And that he wants me to remember that he told me this, even if we aren't friends in the future but he hopes we are.

Well recently we got in a fight, bc I got mad that he didn't text me for 6 days. And that I was always the one initiating text conversations & he acts like he doesn't care about me at all. He never bothers to text me, and when I text him he responds like 3 times then quits that's what he has been doing recently. We used to talk for hours but now we don't anymore.

And he is just making me mad, and he kept saying that he does care about me then he brought up the big paragraph of all the sweet things that he said to me, and he said "So you don't remember this?" And I said it doesn't matter anymore. And I told him I wasn't sure about if I wanted to be friends with him anymore. And he was saying that I never text him half the time which is a freaking lie.😠 I text him at least every 2-3 days. And that's the third time recently I told him that I wanted to quit being friends, because he makes me mad and he upsets me. And I panicked and later on I told him that I decided that I wanted to be friends, and he said, "no more of us being on & off as friends." So basically I can't tell him if I don't want to be friends with him anymore.

Anyways should I keep on being friends with him? What do I do? I am so lost...
