The thing is, my parents are racist. Like REALLY racist. They only like White people and dismiss every other race that's a tad bit darker.

And my fiancée, of whom I love very dearly, has light brown skin. She's basically this shade exactly, though her physical appearance is way different.

My fiancée's mom has really dark brown skin almost like a very dark Indian lady, though she's mother is Hispanic; and her father is White and really pale. So my fiancée is basically an in-between mix of them both.

But that's besides the point. She's a wonderful woman and I love her, but I know my parents would never accept that I marry any other race/ethnicity/skin color other than White.

And overall, I want my wedding to be a happy, pleasant day, with people who make me and my wife feel good. I don't want any drama or fights. "Oh my god! Why are you married to such a sinfully dark woman!"

But then again, they ARE my family, so there might be guilt... I love my fiancée more than my parents though. Way more. She's much more chill, kind, adventurous, and accepting than they are. I'd pick her over them a million times any day.

This is DC's Jinx, from Teen Titans. In the comics, she was supposed to be a strong, bald, dark skinned Indian woman with superpowers. In the 2003 animated televsion series she got re-designed into a very thin goth pale skinned girl with dyed hair. Is this white washing? They did not outright state her race/ethnicity.
