Do you prefer sun tanned or pale skin? Which do you think is more attractive?

I've been pale almost my entire life and never really went out in the sun at all. I liked my pale skin, but then people like my family and friends started telling me that pale skin looks unhealthy and that I need some vitamin D, so I started going out in the sun more. Not full on 'sprawled out on the beach when the sun rays are killing, getting absolutely roasted' tanning, but just walking outside with less sunscreen on and stuff like that. And yeah, I became a fan of tanned skin for a while, mainly because the hair on my arms is literally black, and it doesn't show as much when my skin is darker. (I'm really lazy to actually do something to get rid of the hair, so they will be there forever. Its too much work.) And apparently, I looked "healthier".

On the other hand with my pale skin, I felt like it gave great contrast with the black dramatic makeup I wear, the dark clothes and the blue/green hair I have. And also, you know, bad tan lines aren't a problem when you're pale and don't tan.

So, thoughts?

Tan only looks good if it's your actual skin colour or if it's from being outside in the sun but even then you're risking getting skin cancer if it's too often. Fake tan looks so tacky and trashy I dont know why some people buy it.

I also dont understand why people often use this line "Wow I look so pale, need to put some. bronzor on to look healthier"... mate that's just the colour of your skin. Calm down.

To answer your question I can't really decide. I love all skin tones tbh but not all skin tones suit individual people. Tan skin looks good on people born with it. And pale skin looks good on people born with pale skin. I honestly couldn't really pick if I'm honest. It's all about the individual.

I have pale skin and am called Caucasian for I am white and part Asian too ! I can not tan for I burn and peel ! I like my man to have a natural tan and I believe John does so that is cool ! If you are light skinned and want a tan then try to get one from the sun but if it just peels then you can not have a tan from the sun ! Thanks

For me it depends on the hair color and just how it looks on you. Here's what I prefer and two images for an example.
Brunette - Tan
Blonde - Pale
Red/Orange Hair - Pale
Black Hair - I'm fine with either

Your natural skin color is pale, anything other than that is forced and BAD for your skin. Any tan showing on your skin already means that you have damaged it.

In almost all cases pale skin looks better. The exception is when the pale skin is pale because it's unhealthy/sickly, usually involving drug use.

Remember, tanned skin is skin crying for mercy from UV rays- it's a good way to look older than you really are.

It's naturally more resilient (still shouldn't get excessive sun exposure) and from a physical attraction standpoint, I think both darker girls bleaching themselves and white girls baking themselves look ridiculous.

I'd say it depends on hair and eye color as well as how well someone naturally tans versus burns. Maybe just wear a moderate sunscreen such as spf 30 and enjoy some outside time this summer, regardless of whether you'll tan or not.

I prefer lighter skin shades. What I call, porcelain skin (pale/fair) is very attractive to me. Especially when in contrast to darker hair. I have never found tan white women all that attractive

For caucasians, skin is naturally pale or sometimes has a pinkish hue. The act of tanning is literally killing your skin cells, and if you get sun burnt from tanning you have a risk of getting cancer. Purposely tanning for fashions sake is a fairly new trend only made popular in the last couple hundred years, before that pale skin was seen as very beautiful and natural.
