Why aren't hazel and green eyes as popular as blue eyes?

Blue eyes seem to be popular even in countries like the UK where most people have them. I have always liked earthy colours. What do you think?

I don't think that's the case. I've seen people complimenting all colored eyes (hazel, amber, green etc.), not just blue eyes. Anyway it's about the eye shape, how well it harmonizes with the rest of your features and facial symmetry, not the color. Colorism must stop. It's just as bad as racism

Brown are dominant and the most popular. Hazel, green and blue aren't as popular. I don't even know what colour my eyes are, they usually look green but sometimes they look really blue.

It's not that they are less popular, it's that they are less common. Eye color is determined by genetics, brown is most common since it's a dominant gene. Blue is next, a recessive gene. The other colors (green, gray, hazel, etc) are mutations of genes, which is rare.

I have hazel eyes - therefore they should be more popular. However, blue eyes tend to be brighter and the color blue is, supposedly, a calming color (I'm no psychologist, just something I heard through the grapevine). I like earthy colors also, - the lower-left image.
