Why are people so obsessed with blue eyes even though they are much more common than green eyes?

Question

For example I am happy with my hazel eyes and I know blue eyes won't suit my face at all. I don't understand the obsession with blue eyes in our society. Green eyes look much more unique and look sweet, while blue eyes look cold and unfriendly to me :/

It’s a scarcity thing. They’re becoming rarer and their value will continue to rise. Nothing has inherently changed about them besides their availability. A society full of blue eyed people will think they’re worth next to nothing because from their perspective, it’s just standard, almost as free as breathing air, ie it’s normal.

Every one will have their reasons. I’ve never really thought about it until girls started commenting on it. Mostly it’s the ones who have darker eyes..

Are they pretty? I suppose. Am I being objectified? Yes. Do I really care? Not really. Why would I? It’s positive attention. Would other people care? Absolutely because they either desire them, or they’re envious of the attention I get and despise me.

So, from my perspective, it’s easier to connect with someone on a deeper level who has blue eyes because I’m just not accustomed to care about them. I’m more focused on their personality.

And here’s the really fucked up part, is their anything inherently wrong with having blue eyes, or green, or whatever? What’s inherently wrong about having a favorite color and seeing people who display it?

I have brown eyes and I honestly find brown eyes far more attractive than blue or green eyes.
I don't know why but to me it feels that dark coloured eyes look like there is more strength and especially passion in them.
Maybe it's because some of my siblings have blue and green eyes and I got used to it and don't find it as exciting or rare as some people do.

People just have their preference when it comes to these things. I think blue eyes can look really nice, especially real light blue ones. But I also like the look of green and any colour pretty much. Mostly I just see them as eyes and don’t mind at all what colour they are.

Well my eyes are so black so any color is wow to me 🤣🤣... But I like the same.. there is this girl who was into me she had very pretty green eyes.. I didn't want to stop looking at them lol... I also think Hazel are very attractive.. They're probably my favorite...

Everyone has their preferences, I have blue eyes myself and don't know why but I won't slander other eye colours because it's what other people like/want. I personally don't care for eye colour, but have a strong preference for people with dark brown eyes. I've also never seen a 'true green' eye colour unfortunately to be able to say whether id like it or not, it's always people with hazel eyes claiming they're green.

For me I just love woman's eyes. it doesn't matter what color they are Every Woman has different shape eyes different colors and they all tell the story on who they are on the inside whether good bad wrong right happy sad and I think that's a beautiful thing

I hardly see people with bold, green eyes, so I don't really think about it.

I have brown eyes, and I don't see anything special about them. But I have friends who love deep brown eyes.

I don't know why, but blue eyes are just so beautiful to me... I don't have a preference about what color eyes you have, but if you have blue eyes (especially bright and stunning ones) I almost immediately notice.

Possibly since people tend to perceive blue eyes as rarer for some reason. It could also be because green eyes are a middle ground between a lot of melanin and very little melanin and people tend to prefer black/white situations. You either have dark fudge eyes or you have ocean blue eyes.

At least for me my grandmother had blue eyes that are deep blue sea you get lost in them
And green just dose not do that as much, I think is good with over all but for eyes about eyes I think blue is a big taker on top
