Anyone else feel like they really want children and to start a family?

Yes, absolutely. My girlfriend and I have three and if she told me tomorrow that she was pregnant again you would not be able to wipe the smile off my face.

In fact, every now and then I'll tell her I want another baby. Then she acts the practical one and says that we have our hands full with three. (Currently ages, 9,8, and 6 - boy, boy, girl.)

Truth be told, I am totally in love with my girlfriend and our little family. (We don't want to be married.) I would not change a thing.

However, I won't lie. I see a couple with a new little baby - or even a woman expecting a baby - and I get wistful for the days when my children were just little babies and I would hold them in my arms and kiss them and play with them.

As a quirky aside, a few years back I was contacted by a woman with whom I had once had a one night stand. Turns out I had gotten her pregnant. She decided at the time not to reach out to me but as my son was becoming a teenager she thought he ought know his father. So funny thing, I am learning to raise three small children at the same time I am learning what it is like to parent a teenager. (A great kid, too. I love him with all my heart.)

So, yup, men - at least this man - definitely gets baby fever.

Up until I was maybe 22/23 I just didn't want children, as a teenager I was adamant about it. Then I fell in love at 24 and I was slowly warming up to the idea... by 26 I was sure I wanted them and the longer I waited the more desperate I felt. Now I have a daughter and I couldn't be happier, she's wonderful. I did a lot of fun and rewarding things in my life, have great friendships, partying, career, traveling... nothing, absolutely nothing compares. Not everyone will want children but if you do, it's not an easy void to fill. I don't know if you ever accept it if you miss out, I just know for me it was getting worse the longer I delayed... so if you want children, have them when you're able.

One of my aunt's has six kids, my mom had four, my great grandma had 10.

I work with kids, aged infants to 17. I work with them for more than half the day, so I understand how much work goes into looking after children. It doesn't make me want less or none, it just makes me want more lol. I wanted 5 before I started working with kids

Be careful not to waste your time too much on a man that doesn't want kids yet. If he were to tell you he would like kids within 5-10 years from now, are you willing to still wait? You won't be fertile by then.
