I met someone from online. We messaged for a week. Video chatted after and then had dinner two weeks ago. He asked for a second date during our first date and texted me something nice shortly after we had dinner. He then didn’t message me again until the day after late in the afternoon. It was very brief and then I messaged him the next day. When we text, I get we are both busy but we don’t write to one another back-to-back on a daily basis. And no good morning/how are you texts. Mostly just picking up on what we spoke about last. I spoke to him briefly asking how he felt about me and he told me that he liked me and really enjoyed our date, I’ve just been kind of giving him a hard time because he’s not as direct as the guys I’ve previously spoken to. I don’t know if it’s because it’s too soon for him, if he’s shy or just not interested.

We had our second date earlier this week and the day prior to meeting up, I brought to his attention that I was curious as to why he doesn’t message me often. He said previously I was at work and he didn’t want to get me in trouble and he didn’t want to come across as a bother. Since this conversation, for the past two days he texted me more often during the day but today he only responded to the text I sent from this morning. He doesn’t randomly check up on me or anything that I’d generally expect when you are in the early stages of talking to someone. He asked me out for dinner during our second date but NEVER tried to kiss/hug/or hold my hand.

Around 2 weeks ago, I went out with a guy I met online for the first time. We video chatted prior and spoke online prior. On the first date, he asked me on a second date but did not show any affection on the first date. He texted on a somewhat daily basis, however, they were not back to back or in depth. We went out a second time yesterday and he didn’t kiss or hug me again, he ended up asking me out to dinner again and texted me last night telling me he had a good time. I brought to his attention before having our second date that I was curious if he did like me because he hasn’t been texting me very often. And here is our conversation prior to meeting up yesterday:

Me: Can I ask something?

Him: Always

Me: So you say you're interested in talking to me... so why don't you message often? You only talk to me when we left off of a topic or following up. Are you just not interested in speaking more consistently to me or do you have nothing to say?

Him: I am but I guess I stopped of it was hard to text you while you were at work I didn't want to get you in trouble🙄. Or annoyingly chatty. So then what did you end up doing on Saturday if you don't mind me asking🤪.

Me: I see where you're coming from and I know we have only gone out once, I am just used to talking on a more consistent basis, which is something that had me weary. And I rested. Wasn't feeling my best.

His last text was last night after our date and I haven’t heard from him since. I don’t want to sound crazy or desperate. He did text me a bit more often yesterday morning, after I sent that message about lack of texts.
