I have been on and off with this boy, a few months ago he asked me if I liked him. Previous to this we had a very "platonic" relationship, and he truly did act like he liked me a lot. I was honest and said yes. I then asked him the same question, but he said no. This made me feel really worthless. We are both really popular in school and our social groups, where we met each other. I told him at a bonfire where a few other girls were present that his actions made me feel angry and confused. He has since apologized, but recently he has been more flirty and clingy than ever. He always holds the door, he looks me right in the eye whenever we are having a conversation with other people involved and only talks like this to me. Before he asked me that fatal question he was even doing stuff like putting his arm around me. He has also made comments like when I say "I'm hot", meaning the temperature, he will say something like, I know. My mom doesn't let me wear makeup, and when I was complaining about this to my (female) friends, he came up and said "Well, that's fine because you don't need any". This has happened 2+ times. He also compliments my hair, butt and physical features as well as my intelligence. We also show/train horses together and one time he cleaned the stalls that were my responsibility to clean (over 3 hrs of work). He also sometimes asks to pay for my lunch and stuff too. We can be goofing around with both of our friends, and then me and him will start talking and his body language becomes more docile and he relaxes somewhat, he also lowers his tone of voice and will hold unwavering eye contact for literally a few (15) seconds at a time. Have you ever had that feeling that a guy likes you when maybe he doesn't?

So, there's this guy in my P. E. class and you know he always listens to his music- he's kind of in his own little world.
You see, I think he's just trying to act all cool and kind of wants to be one of those wanna be popular sorta person. But hey I've never met him so I can't tell.
Strangely enough, he complimented my dog- he was talking to my mom. I don't think he even knew that she was my mom, she doesn't come often near the school.
He has embarrassed himself several times though (like me in front of him) and sometimes he walks around by himself wearing his 'totally cool looking clothes'. He doesn't even look at me in P. E. (when I glance at him casually). And the funny thing is he's kind of cute but I don't know what his personality is like, so it's hard to say that I know who he is personally. And I'm new to the school, by the way, and I have only a few new friends.

Back to my story, just earlier today I had left early before the bell rang to end lunch so I could get to my class on time. As I was walking up a flight of stairs, wearing a brown dress (so I could look like a peasant, for medieval day. Which by the way is the first time I have worn a dress to school.), I heard footsteps behind me and out of the corner of my eye I see blond hair and a flash of his face. I kept walking and then I heard "What's up?" although it wasn't his voice but the person beside him saying. He shushed her or kind of made an annoyed noise as I continued walking. For some reason I think it was directed towards me and the girl was poking fun at him or trying to capture my attention.
I keep thinking about it and tossing it over and over in my head but I still can't seem to figure out any signs that he has liked me before. If you need extra info, just let me know.

What do you think? And how can I relax around him when I feel he may like me?
Should I try going after him?

My best guy friend - we'll call him "R" - and I have been friends for about 10 years now. We met in high-school, he's three years younger than me, and we have the same sense of humor, a lot of similar interests, lots of ways we work wonderfully together in most respects. We genuinely love each other (as best friends of 10 years are wo nt to do). Our conversations haven't gotten "deep", but we both enjoy the scientific discussions, and never really have a dull moment.

I had moved away from my hometown where he is to a different state for a few years, and we lost touch. When I came back about 2 years ago, we started hanging out again like we used to, with the addition of being 420 friends. During all this time we never so much as cuddled, and pursued our own relationships as normal, all failing miserably.

Fairly recently, I got out of a toxic 10-month relationship after finding out that the guy I thought might be close to my soul mate had been dating another girl for 7 of those 10 months. R had come over usually weekly just to chill during that relationship, and was someone I could relax around and be me.

Now, a few weeks after said breakup, I had been going over more often to not be alone and to smoke a bit of the emotional pain away. R said he had a question, he asked to have sex. We both confirmed neither of us are in any place for the drama of a relationship, but we don't want to have sex with some random stranger. So we did it. It was a little awkward at first, but as things started going it just keeps getting better. He does all the little things I've wanted in previous partners, without even having to mention it. He seems to be thoroughly enjoying my efforts, and has said so during on more than a few occasions. He caresses me when we cuddle, though it's subtle. We're both very subtle (it took 3 hours for either us to make a move AFTER deciding we did want to have sex).

Is he just trying to be a comforting friend when he knew I needed it?
