Does anyone else get nervous when taking a urinalysis test?

Random question but I'll ask anyway

Does anyone else (men or women, I guess) struggle to go to the bathroom when there are other people around?

I'm a guy and I sometimes can't do it. I almost failed a drug test and was almost disqualified from a job because I took too long to pee. I nearly crapped myself trying to take a piss. No joke, it was extremely embarrassing because I had to do it in front of other men, too.

I probably could have drank more water beforehand but I don't think that would have helped much.

Also, it isn't just when I am being tested but even in public places I can recall being unable. I remember being in a public bathroom and I had to wait for the stall to empty out before going as opposed to using a urinal. When I was in the enclosed stall, though, I had no problem.

I am just worried because in the future I need to take these tests occasionally and I am wondering if I will have the problem again. I heard holding your breath is supposed to relax you.

I had the same problem many times so I feel for you. I swear I popped some blood vessels in my eyes from pushing so hard. All I do now is when I know I have a test I go in on the verge of pissing myself. Shutting your eyes then thinking of something else helps too, it's the pressure of knowing you HAVE to give that urine test or you fail makes it hard to go. So just think of something else when you're standing there

I've had enough urinalyses (almost exclusively for personal medical reasons) in my young life to have lost that insecurity long ago

I don't feel comfortable going to the bathroom in public. And it's even weirder knowing that others will be looking at it and doing studies on it. I can have trouble doing it. I rarely have that test too.

Nope. Last time I had to take one I was joking with the girls before I went in the room, and then gave them a nice frosty mug when I walked out. Half of the employees were in tears.
