Which AI chatbot do you prefer: ChatGPT or Google Gemini?

I use ChatGPT for my own personal creative writing and doing up resumes and cover letters for my job search. I use Gemini for everything else which could be decision making because I’m indecisive and other things like that.

I've kept chat gpt because I get more done with it. However I also understand that's simply because I love talking to it. It feels like it's my alter ego planning things out with me. What open ai has that I haven't been able to replicate with other services is that feeling that the ai agent has some level of cognition. It remembers you... Not things about you.

Though claude is quickly making me not care anymore. If you work with ai learn about MCP it's going to fundamentally change how we think about working with it.

Moreover it doesn't shove woke views packaged in a karen-project-writing style on you.

After grok? Not cloude, though certainly the cringe claude is better than anything from openai. Duckduckgo ai hosting the extreme-privacy version of gemma4 31b. Yes. You don't need your own hardware for a good private chat. Even though 31b can be ran on consumer hardware if you choose to.

Since the former 2 are privacy invasive, and the others like proton ai are slow to access, i will choose duckduckgo and their google Gemma4-31b because it phrases words and facts the way they truly are.

Though there are chinese ones like qwen and deepseek, you need an account to use them and then they don't match google's creepy access to real world data.

ChatGPT. I'm one of the first users to use it (in the first 1% of users) and I have years of conversations ingrained in the memory. I can now ask it literally any question about myself, and it generally knows me better than I know myself. The answers are always bang on.

Other AI has better capabilities out there, but just because of history, I prefer ChatGPT for anything personal.

I've tried both of them, though I don't regularly use either one. ChatGPT is better at conversation, while Gemini is better at search results. I've also used Microsoft Copilot, which you get when you search with Bing. It's similar to Gemini but nit as accurate or informative. All of them sometimes make blatant errors. Its always prudent to check what AI tells you.
