I am venting and know I might get some hate for this. I’m 26 with no real dating history. I’ve had a short term relationship which was absolute shit. I was told in HS and college to wait it out, be patient and focus on your education. Years later, I’m graduated, own my place and have a decent living. I don’t necessarily want kids but I just don’t get my lack of suitors. I know I’m not a ten, at least cute. People have complimented my looks, I struggled with my weight growing up. I was chubbier so I can see how in Hs I was overlooked. Now I’m thinner, I gained a bit of weight during COVID but am close to my smallest weight from 3 years ago. I looked alright in college and never got approached. I hate when people ask why I don’t have a man and while that question can either be a compliment or just a dig to get into my business, I wonder myself. I’ve been on the dating apps for years and have called quits, was on and off. I was just frustrated with the guys that came my way. I always attract the men I would not want to date physically, hence why that short term relationship I had did not work. On the rare occasion I send a message first, it fizzled out very quick. When guys message me first, it goes a little further. The cute guys are usually dicks, the decent looking guys are alright but a little too short for my preferences and the less attractive guys are always pursuing. They have decent personalities but just not what I want in a man. Am I just cursed or too picky?

So there is a girl who is a bit short (around 4.6 ft) but she is very intelligent, confident, smart but is very strict. Strict in the sense she will not tolerate any nonsense from anyone.
She gets angry very quickly.
Also she is an introvert, so she avoids speaking much especially guys but once she bonds then she is the most talkative person.
She is very simple. But she is cute.

I’m in my mid twenties and never been in a long term relationship. The longest I saw someone was for a few months and he was not someone I found physically attractive. I’ve only ever met guys through dating apps and have to rely on them because I don’t know how else to meet people. I’ve been on and off the dating apps for years. I have been off them for maybe 3 months and don’t plan to go back on. I just don’t get why I’m so unlucky in love, most people I know are able to get dates and jump into relationships. I’ve clearly learned to be alone but I think I know my potential, I’m not unrealistic. I know I’m not a ten but think I should be able to attract a decent guy that checks off a few boxes. I’ve only ever attracted men I don’t find good looking. If they’re good looking they’re jerks or if they’re cute/nice they end up being too short. I’ve learned to accept I will end up alone, I just think it’s really uncalled for and unfair. All I ever wanted was to find someone decent, they say love finds you well it better because I am going to stop looking.

Today I was thinking that there are a lot of guitar players on GAG, but I don't see that many questions about them. Maybe you can't come up with much specific to ask? Like, it's better to just play them than talk about them? Anyway, here's a question so you can talk about it. I know you're out there. I am not a guitar player but I've dated them and I've always liked the instrument. One boyfriend taught me a bit of stuff, but I found it a bit cumbersome and strings uncomfortable with my very soft hands and wasn't into cutting my nails that short for long. But my husband plays, he's starting to get back into it again now (it was college days before.) I keep throwing out songs that maybe he could learn. (Nirvana's 'Heart Shaped Box' popped into my head, for it's unusual tuning -- which is apparently a Drop D, with some extra tricks thrown in.) He's got an acoustic, an electric, a bass someone has loaned him, and I bought him over the years a mandolin and an ukulele (though he doesn't play either of those. He said they're "fill-in instruments, once I get the others down." He wants a 12-string next, and a blue one, and a bass of his own.
