I am a very quiet (as you can tell by my username) high school freshman, and I developed a crush on a boy during seventh grade. I know I shouldn't since it's high school and love doesn't ever work out, but my stupid brain won't let me STOP liking him. I am pretty sure he still likes his ex, his best friend/my friend told me he still liked her.

Anyways, I was heartbroken but I shoved it down and basically messaged him saying that I liked him but just wanted to be friends. (and yes, I am friends with him, so we're not complete strangers but we don't really talk). Anyways, I tried to avoid him since I didn't want to creep him out and just left him alone. Then I found out about two months later that they were probably going to go out again, so I lied to my friends and said I didn't have a crush on him anymore and asked M, his best friend and my friend to message him on Facebook and tell him I didn't like him. I assume she did. Anyways, the next day he was kinda depressed but probably for unrelated reasons.
I just feel so stupid that I like him this much, I'm ugly anyways Ugh I just hate myself so much it's unbelievable I would cut myself if I weren't so frickin weak I am unlikable and just ugh.
Thanks for listening to this rambling mess, please answer it if you can, I know I'm probably too young to understand love but I have googled ways to forget boys and it HAS NOT WORKED. I have avoided him, focused on all of his negative qualities, etc. I know I am probably not in love but I just can't forget this boy, I have tried thinking about how there are other fish in the sea but that doesn't work either... Sorry I am probably wasting your time but if you can please help me I don't have any best friends to give good advice...

Recentlay a GaG'er asked a question about how long girls waited before having sex. Girls received a lot of unhappy down votes for choosing to wait. Guys don't realize we don't wait to play games, we wait to be sure you are on the path to genuinely liking us. We know that having sex won't make you fall for us and we like to be more secure. If we are waiting it is because sex is important to us personally.

I know the following is true: Guys don't have sex to fall in love, they fall in love to have sex. If a guy is only interested in sex, nothing will change that. But how about the opposite? What if you were thinking of a potential longer term thing?

If you met a girl for the first date and ended up sleeping with her, would that color your opinions of her? Like, "wow, she is easy. I'll keep her for sex but not thinking of anything more now." Or does it truly not matter?

If it DOES matter, how long/what is the time frame you look for before having sex with a girl you are considering for a LTR is acceptable?

Today's world, so many girls find themselves throwing it away so easily, then being heartbroken when the guy treats them like a friends with benefits with no interest in anything more. Some even claim to be immune and only in it for the sex, but most are truly shattered and feel used. Is there a correlation?

Truth, honest truth. I know a lot of you guys are younger and just have sex on the brain, but think about this question seriously for a minute:

If a girl sleeps with you too soon, does it change your opinion of her and what you expect from her?

Bonus question: what is the "magic" number of dates you will go on before you expect sex from someone (I know each situation is different, but roughly) you are considering for a LTR?
