I've been on this site a while and I really miss how it used to be. I didn't get as many asSholes being overly sexual and super immature. There used to be less dumb questions haha. I used to love it a lot more. What happened to those people with real insight and and open mind? Way too many shit heads nowadays. Really immature people now, rude, and don't really use the sight for what it's for. Might be saying goodbye soon...

I was sexually abused by my step-grandfather when I was about 5 or 6 years old. I'm now 17, turning 18 very soon. My parents have always known about the abuse (I told them soon after it happened), I saw a councillor, and I didn't see my step grandfather for about 3 or 4 years. After that, we gradually started inviting him back into my life. While the issue has kind of been swept under the rug since, my parents have not forgotten what happened. Anyway, we had my grandparents over for lunch today (for Easter) and I was wearing a denim skirt with a shirt that came down to my elbows. After they left, my mum told me off for wearing the skirt (which she thinks was too short and tight) in front of him, saying it was inappropriate given what happened all those years ago. I would like to think she's just trying to protect me because she cares about me and loves me, but part of me also feels that I shouldn't be told off for wearing clothes that make me feel good about myself (it was also a warm day today, so a skirt was very weather appropriate). Given that I was the one who was abused, I don't see why I still get in trouble for wearing certain clothes around him. Also, my mum saw what I was wearing at least an hour before they arrived. If she wanted me to wear something else, couldn't she have just told me then? I would have changed and then she wouldn't have had to get mad at me after. What do you think? My daughter is graduating high school June 2nd. She is not having a graduation party, instead wants a graduation trip with her friends. She is 19, her one friend is 18 and her other one is 19 and yes they are all graduating. They want to go to either Orlando, FL, Key West, FL, Atlantis, Bahamas (not happening), Myrtle Beach, SC, Aruba (yeah right), Rio (yeah no), Maui, Hawaii (definitely not happening). We live in a little small-town - Littlefork, MN. Not a whole lot to do here. To get to the nearest airport, its around a 4 hour drive. NONE of them have their licenses, so I have no idea how they plan on getting around. My daughter keeps saying she can just get an Uber for all of them. The flights to any of these places would have a bunch of connections, there is no nonstop flights at cheap prices. I'm sticking with the ones in Florida or South Carolina, maybe even Virginia beach or Ocean City (I know they didn't mention it but hotels are cheaper). I am not paying for them to go to Hawaii, Aruba or the bahamas or whatever other absorbant luxury place they think they are going too. Prices range from $835-$2500 a person. I told my daughter her friends need to pitch in for the cost because I can't afford paying anywhere close to $8000/$9000 on a trip. They wanna go Friday, June 23rd-Friday, June 30th. I think I have to book it soon if I want packages at cheap prices (these aren't very cheap to begin with but my friend told me the closer you wait the higher prices go up). I really dont know how this works since we usually just go to Brighton Beach which is on the lake. My daughter works at Family foods part time and brings home less than $300 every 2 weeks and I still pay for a lot of her shit so I will be forking out a lot for this trip. They wanna go to a beach by an actual ocean and somewhere with a bunch of amusement parks and things to do (any suggestions?) I would love for her to go on this trip. Should I pay for her friends too? I dont know about this whole thing.
