I don't necessarily mean like financially and stuff. It's just I had a small fight with my boyfriend recently because I wasn't telling him things. Like I wasn't keeping secrets or anything. But I wasn't telling him when I was upset, and if something did upset me I always insist that it doesn't bother me and that I'm fine.
Well the other night I got some pretty bad news and the news mixed in with a bunch of other stuff, it all just sort of clumped together and I got super overwhelmed and I began to cry. Which I don't do often, but every now and then things just pile up and I get overwhelmed.
I had been crying for a good hour, but I didn't want my boyfriend to know I was even upset because I didn't wanna bother him. Though he's said to ALWAYS call him if I'm upset, or at the very least text him and let him know if I'm not with him or something. Just let him know. But in my family, if I cry, I get yelled at and told I'm pretty much crying about nothing. So I've gotten used to not crying and not telling anyone when I'm upset. It just feels so unnatural now.

But so he happened to call me when I was crying, and I answered the phone and immediately tried to calm my butt down and play it cool, but he like noticed my breathing was off. Then he spent the next THREE hours coaxing me to tell him what was really going on even though I kept trying to change the topic and make it all light like nothing was wrong.

He later said he was actually kinda mad I hadn't told him right away because it made him feel like I didn't trust him or I'm not comfortable with him. Which was NOT the case.

So is it bad for someone to want to keep things to themselves when they're upset?
