Hi Ben. I have been reflecting lately on our recent conversations and realize that I still have feelings for you (even though it's hard for me to put my heart out on the line and tell you). I want you to know that I'm ok with the distance in a relationship because I'm a very independent woman. I would have a really hard time being just friends at this point. Little back story... In April 2014 I meet this great guy. We dated until the beginning of October 2014. Because of Ben's job (new pilot for a company that is bouncing him all over the country) it made it difficult to see each other. But we talked, FaceTime, and texted. But I started listening to my friends and became kind of frustrated with the situation. So one day I asked him " I know work is crazy right now. But I just want to make sure your still having fun in this relationship and it's still what you want to be doing?"

His response was... Things here are crazy. I have enjoyed getting to know you but I'd be lying if I said that I'd be able to spend any significant amount of time with you in the near future. I certainly didn't think this year/job was going to be this hectic and time consuming but it is. I don't think it would be healthy for either of us if we pursued this relationship beyond being friends. I realize this isn't news you would want to wake up to but it's an honest self assessment from my perspective. This last week has had me flying throughout the night so I apologize if my grammatical structure is frayed. I apologize if I've disappointed you but I think its best for both of us.
Then on Thanksgiving I texted him. Happy Thanks etc. He responded promptly. Then two weeks went by and I noticed he was matched on my new harmony account. So curious I looked and two days later I received a text from him. Are you stalking me on eharmony

he couldn't do a committed relationship, he was scared and not ready. his last relationship had lasted almost 10 years and he was having a terrible time of it even though it had been a year. he was cheated on. He never lied, he was always honest. and when he told me how much he loves and cares for me I believed him. I have never felt this way about anyone, when I'm with him everything negative around me disappears. I can't describe the way he looks at me, it makes me want to cry when I think about it right now. I broke it off because no matter how hard he tried to explain he felt like everything I was trying to do was push him. I didn't want to do that, i was just insecure. He knew I was insecure, it was an insecure situation. he couldn't give me definite answers, he could only tell me how i felt, he could only be there every time I needed him, he could only make me happy when no one else could, he could only make me laugh when I was down. He was my best friend. So it's been a little on and off, i stopped it this time and I wasn't listening to my heart I was listening to everything around me telling me he won't commit right now, this moment, so he doesn't care enough, he doesn't love you, this is a lie. I have never had a better time with anyone but him. I could talk with him about anything, I was never judged, I was unconditionally supported, even when I told him I had gotten into a program that was taking me overseas for months, I got nothing but support. he listens to me. of course he tells me I'm beautiful and he loves my body, but every time I look down and look up again he's looking me in my eyes. I miss him so much. I don't know what to do because I am insecure, but I love him.

I'm wondering how in the world I should deal with my boyfriend's ex girlfriend

Her and I were Facebook friends while him and her were dating. He's been my best friend since we were 12. While him and her were dating, I'd kinda be a peer mediator , and a listening ear. They dated for 3 years, and were. pretty close.

He has harbored a crush on me since we met, and we started dating this week

When they broke up, she told me some pretty horrible things about him, like he was verbally abusive and mean to her. I didn't really believe anything she told me, because that just didn't sound like my friend, now boyfriend. I'd still sit as a listening ear to her though, being as neutral as possible.

He never really said anything bad about her

Once him and I started dating, I told him all she's been telling me , because I felt he had the right to know

When him and I started dating earlier this week, she started messaging me, saying I didn't need to be in competition with her, that his heart still belongs to her and stuff along those lines. She also said he never actually had a crush on me, which I kNew was wrong. I told my boyfriend what she said then too.

Mind you, SHE ended their relationship

He tried to talk to her about that. She then proceeded to chew me out and harrass me on Facebook. She called me a fake friend, insecure and a liar. She told me I lied to ny boyfriend, amd that I could never get between her and him. When I tried to apologize, saYing possibly I misunderstood something she said ( which is honestly possible) she said I was lying
When I tried to get ahold of mt boyfriend, she told me to stop calling him , to stop messaging him, and to leave him alone. She said she'd tell me when I could message him, that she was calming him down, and that I'm causing drama.

A little after this, I blocked her.

How do I deal with this situation? I'm kinda planning on just never mentioning her again
