Ok for a while I have been struggling with my girl and the difference in effort we are putting into the relationship. We are in our second year and I have noticed that in many cases she will be stressed or need help with something and I am always there and try to go above and beyond to be there for her. Recently I got in a little trouble and have to attend a review justice board. Part of why I’m in trouble is because I listened to my girls advice and did something against my best judgment. I have been given the chance to bring someone with me. When I requested that she would go with me as her word would help lessen the verdict with her statement she said that she won’t go. She said that it’s too stressful and she doesn’t want to go. I am dumbfounded as I would have went to this for her in a heartbeat. This has highlighted to me a background in her being over-sensitive and ultimately when the going gets tough she isn’t there for me. I don’t necessarily want to break up but it has become clear that she won’t be there when I need her most. This is beyond troublesome to think that this is the girl I rely on most. At this point would I be wrong for wanting to end things. I can’t take any more of this one sided feeling of support between me and her. I love this girl with all my heart but I don’t know if I can love her the same way after this. She actually got mad at me for being upset that she wouldn’t come as support and it took 2 hours and me buying her a meal for her to even forgive me for being upset that she won’t be there for me. I can’t do this anymore.

I met my fiance when we were going together on a vacation. We were all part of a martial arts group except her. She was convinced to go by her friend that also went. We talked a few times and her birthday was that week. I gave her a kiss of happy birthday on her forehead. No idea why! She made a bright smile in response and we looked at each other for a few seconds awkwardly in silence after. When we returned she said goodbye to me also by kissing me in the forehead. It was so sweet.

Anyway past a few weeks and we are invited to a birthday dinner hosted by a girl that also went on that vacation. In my country we don’t have am or pm. The dinner was set for 19h aka 7pm. So when I look at the time and see 17h aka 5 pm for some reason for me the “7” meant it was time to go. Ya I can be distracted sometimes. When I realized my mistake I was alone in the city with nothing to do. I picked up my phone and asked if anyone was already nearby. Guess who was… She was supposed to leave class at 6pm, but her teacher wanted to finish class earlier so she was free to join me. We sat down in the main street talking. Just talking and learning more about each other for almost two hours. Something clicked there. I didn’t love her already by any means, but I wanted to spend more time with her. After that night we had a couple of dates and eventually got where we are today. We are going to get married this year.

If that combination of events, our friend dragging her to a vacation where she didn’t knew anyone, me confusing the time and her leaving class earlier, we wouldn’t be here. On the other hand I chose to kiss her forehead, I wanted to go on date after that encounter, she didn’t had to come to me so early and even after she saw me drunk that night she still accepted my invitation for a date.

I personally don't believe in fate. To believe in coincidences it’s much more logical. That life gives a chance and we have to take it. What do you think?
