so I met this guy at summer training camp and I've known who he was since I was seven but never really taken the time to get to look at him or get to know him. we became pretty close at this camp. we cuddled and had a lot of stares. after the camp we texted every day for hours and he later told me he liked me, but we've kind of played it as friends these past 8 months. I really like him but I've giving him the wrong signs and he thinks I don't like him so I don't know if he has friend zoned me or not. sometimes he tells me I'm pretty and good-looking and texts me almost every day now. he is very shy when we train even tho we are pretty close ''friends'' he is always to shy to talk or meet me in real life. he has many friends but never asks me to meet up. he is always very touchy and stares a lot and smiles when I talk to him. sometimes he acts like a jerk and is kind of hot and cold to me. lately I don't know how he feels.

I mean the jealousy in a relationship. E. g. a guy trying to flirt with someone's girlfriend and that someone becomes jealous.

I automatically connect it with confidence because for me being defensive and jealous needs a lot of confidence. When someone is trying to flirt with someone's s/o and he interferes telling the guy to stop and shit or when a guy tries hard to make eyecontact and the boyfriend just gives him that dangerous look, is something I won't expect from an insecure man. It takes balls to show the competitive nature directly and it's pretty hot and masculine.

The only way I might connect jealousy to insecurity is when it becomes toxic (I call it toxic jealousy) e. g. directed to the girl > the girl is not allowed to go anywhere etc. That's where I might think he is afraid to lose her to someone else thus he is insecure.
