My boyfriend and I were together for about 2 months and things were going great! Constantly texting, calling, hanging out... everything was initiated equally. Met his family and his friends and they all like me.

This week he had one of his supervisors get him in trouble and it really crushed his ego. This week was also finals week for me so we were both stressed and haven't seen each other all week.

Today out of the blue, he calls me and tells me he wants to break up because he wants to be single. He was in a horrible 5 year relationship that ended several months before we started our relationship. He dated another girl before me so I was not the rebound.

He says he still cares about me, wants to be with me, wants me in his life (still wants to talk and hang out), but he can't be boyfriend/girlfriend right now. Basically he asked for space. His ex was really controlling and demanding and I think he thinks that relationships are all like that, so he may be psyching himself out. He also said that he's 100% sure that we will work out, he just needs some space to think and enjoy his life without feeling like he has to answer to someone... he used the analogy of a bachelor party lol

I talked with his mom and she says he is really torn up and he cares about me.

So what do you think? Chances of me and him getting back together?

My ex-boyfriend ended our three-month relationship about three weeks ago. In a nutshell, he has become overwhelmed with school and work. He acknowledged that he still has feelings for me and that I'm the best girlfriend he has ever had, but also that I'm not "the one" he's willing to sacrifice other aspects of his life for.

Initially, I took it well. I was incredibly miserable for about two weeks, then we re-established contact. But I relapsed and told him I could never see or talk to him again.

He reacted very strongly, as if I had broken up with him, and quickly contacted me asking me to talk to him again. I gave in pretty easily... and we have been back to friends.

As friends, we flirt. We "click" just as well as we used to. We're happy, we laugh, we even make jokes about our old relationship. Frequently, he tells me how much he misses me and how sometimes he pretends I'm next to him to feel better. He's getting a new car, and he's always telling me how excited he is to drive me around and hang out with me. I have trained myself now to ignore his advances, and sometimes to even reprimand him.

Once I got really pissed he kept sending me sappy love songs and said, "Either get back together with me or shut up." and he said "I'll shut up." I've made it clear that a physical relationship of any kind other than a long-term commitment is out of the question.

Well... here's the thing. I know I'm not over him, but I really enjoy his friendship and don't want to go NC. BUT, recently I've started crying over him again, and today I got really, really angry realizing that I wrote him love letters and poems, but he has never given me a single piece of personalized writing.

So...

Should I tell him how I've realized that he never was a good boyfriend and I'm glad we broke up... and then cut off contact.

OR

Should I tell him that, but maintain contact because we're friends now and it doesn't matter to me anymore if he's a good boyfriend or not.

Hi there.

I'm a freshman in my first semester of college. I just had my midterms in many of my classes.

I am doing quite well (A's and a B) in all of my classes except my sociology class.

In that class I have a D.

Due to my high marks in my other courses and my high marks throughout high school, and the similar grades of my classmates, I know I am not an idiot and thus am not fully to blame. Also, I took a sociology course in high school and got 100% in it. I enjoyed the subject in high school. I understand that college is different and it will be harder, but I think this is unreasonable.

I am in the honors program at my university and my hall director has spoken with me about my D. I am very unhappy with my D.

I believe my D has some to do with the language barrier between myself and the professor. He is Iranian and has a very thick accent and speaks in broken English. I find him very difficult to understand.

I have spoken to other staff members, my adviser, and I have attempted speaking with my sociology professor on many occasions. He has never given me satisfactory answers or advice and is never in his office during his scheduled office hours.

The final day to withdraw from courses is this Thursday. I am considering it.

In order to remain in Honors, I need to maintain a 3.25 GPA. It's not very high, I know but that's just how this is set up. I took a course online over the summer and thus came into college with a 3.70 GPA instead of a 0.00 like the rest of the freshmen.

My question is: Do you think I should withdraw or stay?

If I stayed, my GPA would be altered. I don't think I will be able to raise my grade because I have gotten consistent scores on the tests in the class which shows that I am only absorbing part of the material. I believe I would do better if I took it again with a professor I understood. I also would go on honors probation for receiving the low grade.

Honors probation would put me in jephordy of losing the benifits of the honors program such as a single room, and scholarships.

If I dropped, my GPA would not be altered and I'd have to pay to take the course a second time ($1,500) but my GPA wouldn't drop.

I've talked to many people and they're pretty split on the topic. My parents were originally against the idea because of the money, but they don't want my GPA to drop. My adviser has told me to drop, my friends have told me to drop, my boyfriend has told me to drop, his parents have told me to drop, other classmates are split on the idea, some say drop, some say stay, other professors have told me to try to stick it out, and my grandmother has told me to stick it out. I'm torn.

I don't like failing at things. I have never gotten less than a B on anything in my life. Doing poorly is not acceptable to me and failure is not acceptable to my parents either.



So, thoughts?
