I started this job two weeks ago. I’m a server in a fairly new retirement center (independent living center) there are 4 floors to this building for rooms and the 3rd and fourth floor are vacant. There’s only around 50 residents. Anyways I’m terrible at driving in snow or ice. My car literally slides everywhere and won’t stop without the brakes jolting. It’s a sports car so it’s not really made for winter weather. I’ve only been driving for 7 months and have never drove in winter weather except for last week. They are calling for 11-15 inches of snow starting Saturday morning until Sunday night. With 2-3 inches of ice (freezing rain). We are under a winter storm watch. I work tomorrow and Saturday and I’m off Sunday. We can sign up tomorrow for a room. I’m gonna check the forecast again tomorrow but it’s been saying this for two days now. I live about 20 minutes away from work taking windy backroads going up and down hill. Parents won’t be able to take me or pick me up from work on Saturday. I don’t have to be at work until 11am Saturday but snow is supposed to start at 5am and it says constant heavy snowfall which makes travel conditions very difficult or impossible. Mom thinks I should spend the night Saturday or sign up for Saturday and try to go in on Saturday morning but I kinda wanna stay tomorrow night. There’s staff that works on Saturday coming and staying tomorrow night (they don’t have to work until 3pm) but don’t wanna risk dying getting to work and don’t wanna call off and not get paid either. I don't know what to do. I don’t have anyone who can pick me up or take me there and I’m terrified to drive in it

Im not calling out anyone specifically and not fussing, but i really hate being told to just enjoy life. Look, I've done one of the main things i wanted in life which was to finish school (graduated top of class) and get a degree (turned out to be pointless though). I never partied, never cared to. Im not the type to date for fun and fck around. Lots of people especially in the south start families at 21-24 and i want to be one of them. I dont have a dream career anymore so if i settle, whatever. I just want love and a family. Its the only thing that can make me extremely satisfied and happy at this point. Stop asking if im ready, stop lecturing me. Apparently im one of the few who wants these things “young” and under 25. Live your dream and let me seek and live mine. #FeelFreeToList
