is he in a rebound? Or does it sound like he wants to marry this woman to have done a relationship status on fb? (Something he doesn’t usually do)

My college is getting low on funds and I'm in a position to donate pretty generously, but I ended things with the college on the wrong foot. Senior year, I was a biology tutor and this girl came in to get tutoring advice. A third of her class grade was going to be a major essay on bone formation, so we focused on that. She came in twice a week for three months to show me a new draft of it and get more advice on writing scientifically. When she turned it in, her instructor (my advisor) accused her of cheating and they came at me. I looked it over and told them it WAS the paper I was helping her with and was upfront about how much we'd worked on it (I even had some of the earlier drafts still on me). I had done exactly what they told me to do as a tutor. They interrogated me pretty aggressively, eventually telling me that they guess I'd "helped too much" and said they'd fire me if I did anything like that again let alone talk to this girl ever again; but they could see we hadn't cheated and no one got expelled. It shook me up pretty bad and I kind of wonder if that gave me a bad reputation because people kept offering to "buy" term papers from me after that. The thing is, the teachers I had trusted never apologized for the wrongful accusations and it stuck with me. Now the college is asking for money. Is it wrong to tell them I'd give it, if they issued a formal apology for what happened senior year?
