Dustin is 12 years old. He's a foster kid who's recently been adopted. While he lived with his mother and step father, he was physically, sexually and mentally abused. He was raped, beaten and his mother slapped him in the face and said it was his fault. When he got adopted his foster mother Emily, who's 45 and foster father James who's 60 try everything in their power to make sure Dustin feels loved, cared for and cook him healthy, good meals. They give Dustin a safe, loving environment. One day James sits outside in the backyard and Dustin walks in front of him. Dustin pulls his pants, and underwear down to his ankles and says. James is so scared he feels sick.

A few days later Emily tries to hug Dustin, Dustin screams and hits her.

Dustin was angry at his foster mother so he hit her again and tried to bite James. They had to hold him down until he calmed down. One day while Emily was alone with Dustin, he pulled his pants down, bent over and laughed when she looks at him with horror.

Dustin is a really great piano player, one day he sees the girl In class that he has a huge crush on, and she also plays piano. Dustin acts stupid, and slow while she plays. He knows a lot about piano playing, much more than her but he likes to act stupid, and naive because he thinks she'll like him more. He purposely makes himself look stupid and clueless around her and enjoys it.
