He hasn't even told me about his engagement, yet. It's an arranged marriage by his parents, where the girl isn't attractive at all, and I'm much prettier than her (just being honest lol
). Also he doesn't even know her so I know he still has feelings for me. But he texted me 2 weeks ago saying he wants to get drinks with me, if I'm single. I said yes cause I wanted to too. And last year I hadn't met him for a really long time but he used to constantly ask me to meet him. He had sent me a snap to which I hadn't replied and yesterday I got to know that he's engaged. Should I congratulate him or wait for him to tell me the news? I definitely still have feelings for him and it bothers me quite a lot to see him get engaged :/

Background: I’ve been spending time with a new guy for a little over a month now, getting to know each other. When he picked me up for a date, I noticed a custom trinket that he has hanging from his rear view mirror. I looked at it closely and it had a “drive safe” message engraved with a girl’s name and a heart on it. I asked him about it and he said it was from his ex.

I was taken aback because I don’t personally keep gifts from exes, especially something that seems sentimental. He told me a bit about her and that things didn’t necessarily end on a bad note, they just ended up wanting different things but they’re cool with each other. Jokingly I told him that he probably still has feelings for her, then he told me if that were the case, we wouldn’t be seeing each other.

I only ever really hear about issues with women keeping jewelry from exes but out of curiosity for the men, is keeping something like this, a custom gift that you probably look at regularly, a big deal? Or this probably means nothing?
