So I m writing a novel and The Protagonist is a guy that had been mentally manipulated by his world around him.
This is my character I'm working on what are your thoughts?

The character is currently 31years old.
He has been held back by his mother who had been controlling his life ever since he was a teenager. His ambition and goal is to move out his controlling parents house but they won't let him grow up. They fight against his maturity in order to keep him a child. Note : this characters whole family treated him as a seven year old kid. His Cousins Brother mother almost all his family members. He can't even use small things like a bank ATM. HIS mother holds everything in her hand... His ID BOOK , HIS BANKCARD.. she controls his life.. and others around try to do the same (nit everyone) just those who want to manipulate him and treat him like a kid.

Plot
Tom Grayson is a 31 year Male.. Who had been mentally manipulated Creating a challenged yet normal person who
desires to move out if his mother's house and become independent. But has no idea how to escape her grasp as she is one of those parents who doesn't want him to grow up and become an adult.

Note: there was nothing wrong with his mind in the beginning of the story. he was a pretty normal person. Who had been treated like a kid all his life

How can you let one asshole cop make you lose your minds for killing one man? How many people have died during these riots? How many jobs destroyed? How many MORE people are gonna starve and commit suicide over losing their homes, jobs and not being able to provide for their families? Shit happens. All I know is if it comes down to a civil war, I'm choosing to fight for The United States of America. For freedom. And defend it against People who define you by your race, gender or political party. Who think you should bend to their thinking and if you don't, they'll hound you until they ruin your life. Just for disagreeing with them. Make you say your sorry for the act of speaking out. Why the fuck are people getting fired or even beaten just for saying you disagree with their ideas? Parents stayed married but my dad was too afraid to divorce my extremely emotionally abusive and sometimes violent neurotic mother. She often turned this shit on me (I’m the oldest). She was very controlling. I haven’t spoken to her directly in over 3 years.

Problem is she is very beautiful. My dad is above average earner but not rich. I painfully see why he stayed despite multiple threats of divorce. He won’t have anyone else if he leaves. At least not someone who is half as attractive.

Truth is I was they got divorced. Because that would of been a lesson not to tolerate abusive women.
