I don't know really what to think. I'm not sick of it, and I don't so much think it's all bull$hit if I'm honest. A lot of bad, really bad stuff has gone down in history, and even now, but it's never just been one group against another. The more I learn of history the more I see we have all done wrong, we've all made mistakes. These are things, for the most part we seem to have learnt from, so if they hadn't happened we wouldn't be where we are now, which all in all isn't the worst way to live.

If I am to bring my personal opinion into this, I can't be singular about it. I won't use words like racism, homophobia or sexism (interesting, thing I just noticed about my self there, Im a gay man but I said racism first, I haven't preplanned this I'm just typing). I am going to use the word bigotry, I hope that doesn't upset anyone, but my opinion falls into a larger world.

I think the fight for equality has, or is going, stale, not because no-one cares or because everyone hates us (a word I'm not sure fits here really, because as far as I know, in order to hate, you have to love first, and when you truly hate someone you know about it, because it's a painful feeling that is hard to move on from, by the way, I hated 4 particular people in my own family for their individual actions against me that in the end crossed one line too many). I think, I believe, we are causing our own problems now, we're extending the issues unnecessary. The funny thing is I'm not taking about blaming people, or demanding justice or anything else like that. I'm talking about how we treat each other.

As a gay man I have seen and felt this first hand, I would never honestly call myself masculine, what ever exactly that means, I'm weak, easily manipulated and extremely emotional (I am in no way saying that I believe that to be feminine, I'm just just commenting on what I believe to be unnatural standards we are forced to live by because of our gender, I don't fit them at all), but according to other gay men I am masculine, which in there eye's makes me "not gay enough". When I was made homeless, the gay community were no where to be seen, I was helped only by straight people. When I asked a "boyfriend" about this later, his exact words were "homeless gay's don't really look good, it's pretty detrimental", of course he was promptly dumped for that. I am constantly condemned by "my own" for being myself and not adhering to their stereotypes, they don't like that I don't paint my sexuality over myself and yet people seem to have no trouble recognising that I'm gay without me "coming out every time I walk into a room". I have always been comfortable enough with my own sexuality and myself that I can join conversations with straight people about love, relationships and even sex, and I never deny the fact I am talking about a male, and funny enough, you would expect from what LGBT tell you that straight people would feel uncomfortable and shy away from the conversation, which has never happened to me. Saying that, you'd expect, from what LGBT tell you, you would expect I would have been completely alone after being thrown out for being gay, except, instead, I found teachers, friends, friends parents rallying round me to help, even some threatening violence against my family, all utterly disgusted by my family's actions, I even found new friends through this, in complete contrast to the fear that LGBT put into me. (MY CONTINUATION 1) It seems that this is happening in all minority groups, mixed-race people being told their not black enough, fights over light and dark skin, women condemning other women as anti-feminist for having different opinions. Then you see people of minority groups getting away with things no one else ever would. Take, for instance, John Barrowman, who's behaviour on set of doctor who and Torchwood was called out. If that had been a straight male, there would have been no question, he would have been gone in seconds, and yet with him people are fighting to protect him and his career. If a minority can be forgiven for past mistakes, why not any one else.

To answer your question why most women stand behind it is simple. Women will follow what the media pushes. Women do not lead, they think they do though when it comes to white men. FYI: The first slaves in this country were white. They were called indentured servants. Nice way of saying slave. Slavery ended 156 years ago. That's called history. Africans enslaved Africans. One of the very first slave owners in America was a black man. The north hated the blacks more than the south. Blacks (slaves) survived unlike the millions of indigenous tribes whose land we stole and whom we slaughtered. Today, blacks yell inequality and demand this and that.
