I just want to put myself out there, because I'm trying hard to pinpoint what it is that I'm doing wrong. I stopped looking for a girlfriend, and I really do want an honest, deep, loving relationship, but right now, it just seems impossible, like anyone I like doesn't like me back, or... the feelings aren't mutual, or whatever the case may be.

After being ghosted a few times, I just want to put out there who I am and what I'm like to date and see if it is just me, or another factor.

I am a man. 34. I work with disabled youth to help get them workplace readiness training, etc to get them employed. I like riding my bicycle, and going fishing. I work out occasionally and I do the Netflix binge every now and again. I have great patience and I try to not argue over anything. I give 100% of myself in a relationship, putting a strong emphasis on trust and communication. I can be very honest, brutally, but I do respect opinions and I get told all the time how sweet I am and how lovable it is to talk to me. My Internet friends all tell me they fall in love with my voice.

No matter what I do... no matter who I try to date, I always find someone else in the picture or they just aren't interested, or "I'm focusing on me now," but it never works. I'm absolutely gobsmacked as to why. I am very giving and I just want a nurturing person to love me back, not someone who doesn't appreciate me for what I give, but someone who does and gives it back at the same level. I live by myself, have a cat, and I am always, always honest. No mind games or trials to overcome.

What is wrong? Am I really that bad of a person to not want to date?

Who would you go fishing with?

So I’m a guy who always gets the reply from a girl: “I’m working on myself right now, I’m not really dating anyone, or let’s be good friends, you seem cool” or “ you’re a sweet guy, but...” and I’m seriously exhausted from the constant rejection. My last girlfriend I had for 4 years and it ended with her saying we weren’t compatible, and I just thought she was fishing for a reason.

But I don’t want to be out of practice, I don’t want girls to pass me over, and I want to stay positive. But I’m questioning my date-ability rating. What are you girls looking for, specifically in nice guys? It really does seem like we finish last. Is not being bad boring?
