The popular culture/internet relationship 'expertise' is full of advice on how to be independent, and that seems to be reflected in what people believe - that you must be fully independent before you can commit to anyone.

Being in a relationship seems the least popular - who needs the boredom of being continuously connected to one person when you can have all those choices of what to do with yourself (I disagree, just paraphrasing).

Then there is the in-between - you are sort of in a relationship, but you limit your availability - some people seem puzzled at the mere suggestion there is anything more than this (no telling your significant other where you are or what you are up to, no 'giving in' - with the obvious question being who will cheat first)

And then, of course, complete refusal to get involved with anyone because you are told you must be independent - and you stick to a certain loneliness in attempts to master this monk-craft that is being sold as a cure for all ails. Presumably, the benefit of independence is you are allowed all the flirts and flings and hookups - though I am yet to find someone who finds any of it fulfilling (anyone I've ever met with that as a goal was simply lonely)

I think I’m the perfect guy. I think I’m good looking, I get daily glances from women. Everyone has different preferences.

I’m definitely a good/warm guy, tall 6’2, slim/skinny, well groomed, very rich background, highly educated. Big ambitions to transform family businesses and better the family name.

What I want in a girl:
I don’t want her to care about ANY of this shit. I just want her to value the person I am and appreciate the fact I’m succeeding! I don’t want her to care about all this superficial stuff. I want a beautiful caring non superficial girl. Ideally a virgin, but if she’s had a relationship before I guess I may look past it as no one is perfect. As long as she’s never had hookups.

I meet girls that have hookup up, had multiple boyfriends and had many many dates. They would have told multiple men that they love them.

I just sigh.

Can you date girls that have had hookups?

I personally can’t. It’s gross and degrading to be honest.
I can’t expect a girl like this to commit and make a good girlfriend or wife.

I had a friend that said he met his girlfriend through a hookup and let to a relationship. I was like that’s so American (cause you guys are so trash).

Every girl I dated was pretty. I noticed they all had so much attention from men. Multiple sex partners. A lot of experience, with dating/relationships. Whereas I’m like 2 years older and had nothing.

I’ve accepted I’m not compatible with any girl. Nor do I want to be compatible with these women. It’s kind of a degrading society I think we live in, with hookup culture. No win society. I’m good looking, but I still have to put so much effort, it should be equal. It’s not worth it.
