Back in mid October, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and I added and messaged this really cute girl on Facebook I went to high school with, but never talked to. Anyway, we actually got talking and we started getting along pretty good.
She did live 2 hours away, because of school, so we didn't get together, but we talked more and more and she said she was interested in a relationship. I offered to come up to see her on my nights off, but she had night classes those nights, so I never could.
Anyway, she and I started making plans for her winter break. She had expressed interest in us starting to have sex and meeting parents while she was down here. I changed my schedule to make maximize my I'm with her. Going into the first date we were very excited and I really liked her, I got her a rose and everything, even went to find her favorite hot chocolate for our date.
But she asked to go home because of a migraine and said she wasn't fully over her ex and needed time. She said she thought she'd be fine until our plans became real.
For a few weeks we barely talked, and she'd ask me how I got over my last girlfriend. But lately, I felt I was trying to convince her she should be over her ex and stop ignoring the person who's trying to be in her life.
The other day I sent her a message, saying that I felt I was trying to convince her rather than help the situation. I told her hopefully when things change she'll reach out to me, and I'll be her for her. She said she didn't feel I was doing that, and she appreciates that.
It's been a few days since, and she hasn't said anything to me. I also found her Instagram, and she portrayed herself as a conservative quiet person, but she has a lot of revealing pictures on Instagram, which I guess is the norm now, but a lot of pictures for attention, in my opinion. She also still has a photo of her and the ex on there. I got more upset when I saw the pictures of her doing our plans, but whether she was with family or someone else I don't know.

My brother Michael was married to a girl named Clarissa. They had a daughter in 2016 when they she was 18 at the time and he was 20. My family is really conservative which means I am and so if my brother. I mean conservative in values, like traditional values. Clarissa's family is also really traditional.

Clarissa was cheating last fall during her sophomore year of college and Michael found out and divorced her because she was cheating with a black guy and she was also pregnant. He told everyone and her family wasn't happy. Her family almost entirely disowned her, and when it was time for the divorce her family went with our family and they had good lawyers and argued she was an unfit parent, verbally abusive, and I heard from my brother that they coached my niece what to say like "Mommy is mean" and "Mommy likes to see a scary man" and "Mommy does bad things."

The judge gave main custody to my brother who has a new girlfriend, and partial custody a few weekends a month to his ex-wife's parents. My brother and his ex-wife's family still have a good relationship, and my niece sees the other side of her family a lot often.

Clarissa already had her second child but the guy she was cheating with left her a few months before she had his child. Now she doesn't know what to do because she needs to pay child support to her ex, support her new child whose father left, and is struggling because she has zero family support anymore. She relied a lot on my brother Michael, her ex-husband because they were a couple since high school. She is also depressed because she regrets cheating on Michael and not being able to see her first daughter anymore and its been seven or eight months now. She asks me to send her pictures and videos because almost everyone in my family and her family blocked her on social media too. Clarissa is really heartbroken to hear her daughter call Michael's new girlfriend/fiancee "Mommy" and how she is taking her place as mom to her daughter.
