I just graduated high school and will be starting college in the fall. I'll be starting at a local community college to save money, so I won't be living on campus. Either way, it's a pretty large community college with over 10,000 people and I plan on getting involved in clubs and organizations.

Still, I'm having a hard time letting go of high school. For the most part, I had a poor high school experience Freshman - Junior years. I didn't have many friends, and was pretty unhappy. But my Senior year that all changed. My Senior year, I made more of an effort to be outgoing and I met more people and made more friends my Senior year than my previous three years combined. I finally found a group of friends to hang out with. Okay, they were Freshman, but still it was nice having a group of friends.

I'm just kind of bummed about having to start all over again in college. Did anybody have a similar experience, and were you able to make more friends in college? I used to be pretty shy and I've gotten to the point where I can go up to anyone and talk, so I'm hoping if I'm outgoing I can make friends in college.
