We're all suspicious.

But are you less tolerant?

Do you roll with the tide (and punches), and generally accept most dissonance and differences?

Or is behaviour of people online too far out there, you just can't?

(Let's speak in majorities here, not the very worst ones; some occasional blocks are expected, no big deal.)

I've always been a skeptic, cynic, realist. I know humans are capable of all sorts of depravity. No surprise there.
Then I came on GAG and was initially pretty horrified. It was worse than I thought. (The degrading power of anonymity and all that; plus, the internet is global so you've got all these different cultures and ideologies rubbing up against each other), but then over time a surprising thing - I figured out there were things I could do and not do that would either add to the heaping, smoking pile, or I could alleviate and diffuse.
I wouldn't say that I feel great about it, no, but I do seek out and appreciate the decent people. I think avid blocking is a mistake. I unblocked everyone, started over, and have actually found there was benefit in just being in each other's periphery. I think everyone has a bad day here and there; and their specific issues and triggers which bother them the most, but after some initial wtf's, I've become more tolerant and accepting. Not more than I was coming on the internet, but more than I was the first while, during which, I thought, 'what a shit show, cesspool, this is.' But glad I stuck with it, because overall it's been interesting, and more + than -.

Anyway, just curious. I suspect you all want to say that others are less tolerant, but this isn't about them. This is about you. So let's see what turns up in the poll...
