Weve been dating for a year now, and we are really serious about each other. I want to marry him. I've never wanted to marry someone before. I have never had such a connection with anyone in my entire life. And he really wants to get promise rings (2 promises- for marriage, and no intercourse til we are married).
I'm asking this question, because, I have some abandonment issues. In previous relationships, I never let myself get truly attached. I was in a two year relationship, and when I broke up with him, I didn't even cry... I was that unattached.
But this guy... He completely swept me off my feet. He is my best friend, we laugh together for hours on end. We connect on such a deep level, I can tell how he's feeling without even looking at him. I am finally in love. He looks at me like I am absolute gold, that I am a treasure, an angel. He calls me his queen and princess and takes such good care of me.
And if he left me, I'd be so devastated. I don't want to take this step, and then be left wishing I had stuck to blocking people out.
I am in therapy and doing really, really well. I trust him. But a tiny voice is nagging at me, and I'm afraid of commitment.
Because of this we intend on moving slow. First promise rings, a long engagement, and then finally marriage. I think I'm ready. I love him and I know he loves me. I'm ready to step out of this fear of commitment and this is such a small step that, I think I can do it, and I want to. But I need a third party opinion. So, what do you think?

I met this guy earlier this year and we hit it off right away. We had this mutual trust and comfortabilty after a couple weeks (which was really weird for me because I have trust issues). Everyone we work with always thinks that we're more than friends (more specifically that we're at the very least hooking up) because we have a very flirty kind of relationship. Anytime there is a work function where we go out and do things, I always drive him because he doesn't have his license (we are both 17).

About a month ago, we went to a party (yes there was alcohol involved and it was irresponsible, but nod body drove drunk and please do not make comments on age for this. I'm aware but in our society, it happens) and on the drive there, he literally made a rule that we shouldn't touch each other. He said that it was because you never know what happens where there's drinking involved. He broke that rule. He was hugging all over me after maybe an hour and that night I layed next to a different guy who was there on the couch (we cuddled a little but that was all) and he seemed so jealous the next morning and like he was mad at me for that.

After that party (about a week later) he asked me if I had feelings for him like that and I said no. Even though I kind of did. I just didn't want to risk the friendship. It was weird for a little while but now we're back to normal. This guy knows me better than any other person. He knows as soon as something is wrong (sometimes before I do). I was feeling really sad last night at 1am and he just happened to snap chat me and after the first message, he knew something was up. I have so much trouble sorting out my feelings for him, whether I would want to be more than friends or not. Plus, I have no idea how he feels. So this a normal guy/girl relationship? He's my first real guy friend so I'm just a little confused.

i have never met this girl. but apparently they are friends. he told me he's friend with her and her boyfriend. apparently this guy has been drinking heavily and they have a kid together. our realtionship hasn't been as good as it could be lately. we have been fighting a lot, and i have been super depressed after having our baby, and he seems more concerened with what this girl is going through and making sure she's okay than me? i just dont get it. i mean i dont feel the need to go out of my way and message my guy friends asking about their relationship problems. im not sure if im overreacting with how i feel about it and just being insecure because of the past. at least he asked me if it was okay before hand rather than just doing it. i guess its just upsetting because i feel like he should be focusing on our relationship problems and not someone else's. he said he wanted them to stay together and he would message her boyfriend instead. i dont know am i getting worked up over nothing? we have trust issues in our relationship we are both trying to work on, and we had problems before with him being flirtiaous and romantic with another one of his girl "friends" who was actually married in the past. so it's not actually like im convinced her having a boyfriend would stop anything from getting out of hand. im trying to move on from that situation, and learn how to trust him again, but i still can't help but feel worried when it comes to these situations, can y'all blame me for feeling this or what?
