I'm finishing my 3rd year as an engineering student. A take a lot of pride and interest in my studies. I genuinely think it's interesting to look at something and sort of mentally dissect it to understand the functionality behind it.

Today I hanging out with our normal group and there was this girl who I hadn't talked to before. We were watching a video that she made for one of her classes. She complained that her TV had a 'shitty' picture compared to my buddies tv.. which is the tv we were watching it on at the time.

I asked her what TV she had and she told me. I explained to her that her brand uses edged light LED technology. I explained to her the differences in how light sources are emitted in different types of TVs. I told her all this is to explain why the contrast doesn't look as great in comparison to my buddies T. V. who has a direct LED system. Explained the contrast ratio difference and why the direct LED will usually produce a better image. Went into scanning implementation and everything lol. I mean I dumbed it down and used analogies to the point where anyone could understand.

Caught myself rambling because she did actually seem interested. She went 0-100 real quick and said.. "Jesus.. I don't need to know all this dude". I was just thinking well fuck you then dude lmao. My girlfriend is interested in this kind of shit at least lol.
