Summary: My boyfriend and I have been talking engagement for a while. We've looked at rings, and we're both serious.
I've always wanted to be asked this way. 'After a romantic night we find some privacy and my boyfriend surprises me with an animal. And on the tag it's a heart that reads "Will you marry me?"'



At first I wanted a silver Persian kitten with green eyes.

Then a bulldog puppy.

Then, I decided I didn't want a fancy pedigree pet, I wanted an older shelter pet, someone that had been in the shelter forever, or someone on the kill list.


But that's just not possible right now because I have rats, and I don't want to add a pet because of them, rent increase, and my roommate has a dog.

Everyone thinks I want something crazy and grand. And he fears if he doesn't get it 'right' I will be disappointed and may even say no (which I would never).

I don't think I want anything over the top, we've always said we wanted to get pets together.

Now, I don't know what I want though because that's always been my dream. A pet and a fiance :) But I won't ask for it because I won't inconvenience him.

Any ideas, he really wants to know. We plan on not getting married for at least a year and a bit. And we plan on living together next August once I graduate.

I honestly think relationships would work out better if the Woman stuck to the traditional ways and let the man be the man of the household, being in the money etc and women should cook the dinner etc. I'm all for women should have some rights or whatever but its gotten way out of hand now and a lot of women don't act feminine anymore, some women have more balls than men now. I like when men take control, when I find someone to marry I've always said I'd want him to wear the pants be the man. I think men feel emasculated when women bring in more money than them, or make the desisions and can lead to breakup divorce etc. Does any other women feel this way anymore? Or is it just me?

I was wondering if it is true that men yearn for women so much more than the other way around. So. How much do you yearn for the opposite gender?
