Someone who's arrogant, who holds an air of attitude, gives off an "I'm better than you"- vibe, or someone who's insecure, lacks confidence, and needs to be constantly reassured?
I know neither of these characteristics are particularly desirable, but if you absolutely had to choose between one of them, which would you pick? These are obviously extremes and flaws at best but I'm just curious to see which is the lesser of two evils in terms of tolerance in a relationship.

A lot of people who are bitter because they don't have sex, can get a partner, get rejected... I find that it's usually themselves, or at least to a degree. They usually lack incredibly in the confidence area and don't take the time to build on it or they expect it to happen overnight. Or that it isn't their fault they don't have any, like it's something you're just born with, no, you develop it. They're entitled, no one HAS to say 'yes' to you. They don't give a reason, other than being nice, being nice doesn't mean that someone should want you. They let their bitterness get in the way of chances that someone MIGHT say yes, if you have an attitude that no one is gonna like you, that effects your results. They blame it on someone being shallow and just liking douchebags/badboys/sluts/bitches/etc. Like, don't people realize that a lot of these go back to self worth? Are some people actually self centered and shallow? Yes, a lot of people are assholes and don't give other's a chance, that's true. But if you blame people for not dating you cause "you're ugly" that goes back to how you view yourself.

self worth is not equal to entitlement. One is knowing your value, the other is THINKING you deserve something for simply existing. (I swear to God, if one of y'all pulls out a literal definition.)

Also, it's okay to feel bad about your love life, but being bitter is a whole 'nother thing.
This is men and women with this mindset. If you get pissy, well, if the shoe fits.

I come from a traditional middle eastern background and frankly, I am sick of all the opportunities that are slipping through my fingers.

Opportunities such as relationships and pursuing something that I truly love.

I am nearly 30 and whenever I try to embark on a romantic relationship, or maybe have an argument with someone who disrespected me at church, I constantly get the worst verbal abuse you can imagine and I still get hit when I defend myself.

I feel that this is causing my lack of confidence and it's taking a toll on my mental health.

Yes, there is a differences between motherly and fatherly guidance and stern talk but I believe that my parents way of punishment is archaic and I constantly get threats that if I leave home without marriage, then all of my family members will be notified and I'll be disowned.

I have the means to live on my own and rent comfortably. Should I do this or wait a little bit until I can afford a house?
