I figured out her mind games of being subliminal and she knows I know that she got details of my previous relationship from my ex. This situation gets more complex by the day and I'm really feeling disappointed that they are doing this.

But at the same time... I'd do the same thing on a crush if I could find out more about her. Especially if she was so mysterious (like me). And at the end of the day... I'm still got love for my crush.

If you are the one who broke up the relationship

Are you trying to maintain a friendship to assuage your guilt over the break up? That's not a good reason to maintain a friendship.

How will your next partner feel about you spending time with the guy or girl who was sharing your bed last summer?

Don't you know your ex has some hope of eventually reuniting with you?

If you are the one who didn't want the break up

Be honest with yourself; aren't you wanting to hang on to this person in hopes of them realizing how much they miss you and need you in their life?

When you try to move forward, how should your new partner feel about the fact that you are still spending time with the guy or girl who was your sexual partner three months ago?

To me, all of the above arguments make sense, but I have only once tried to maintain a friendship with a former girlfriend. I broke up because, after two years, she did not love me and was not a dedicated girlfriend and I did not want to waste the rest of my life on her. We had a tremendous span of common interests and we could have been good friends if we had not first been lovers. After a few months of seeing her just sporadically, I realized that I as trying to hang on to the hope that she would want me. I realized that what I was doing was pathetic and I simply let go of her.
