Firstly I had asked for her address to have something delivered for her birthday and sent her flowers. When she received them she seemed to respond well to them but now she seems to be acting differently with her responses to my messages. She is now sending some messages with “cheesy grin” emojis and is sending ahahha in some responses to messages.

I know this might seem obvious as to if she is responding positively but I’m clueless as nothing like this has never happened before, usually after doing something like this with past girls I’ve been interested in (even just asking for their house address) they usually completely ignore my messages and/or if I see them, they act extremely awkward around me. This is the first time someone is acting differently and it's confusing me.

My mom is a Republican-leaning independent as I described directly to her and she agreed with me. She didn't like everything Trump said about Mexicans or Muslims. However, she appreciated that he had no filter.

Anyway, we were talking about politics in general and she was tired of Black people acting like they were underclassed and underprivileged, like look at the celebrities, the athletes, this and that. "Sorry, but you're far more privileged than me. I'm not privileged." My mom works 9 to 5 pretty much every weekday. Then I asked her how she felt about MLK; she told me he was an activist that he had a right to speak his mind, and that there was segregation back then but no segregation or forced busing now.

I told her the reason why BLM isn't political is because corporations used the black square back in June of 2020 to follow the trend. How are coroprations political then? My mom disagreed, and said it was political. She was extremely uncomfortable hearing someone saying that "all white people are racist because we live in a racist system; ... read this book." Likely a Black person said it, but it could have been a white person too; I'm not so sure.
