Met my dream guy and he is drawn to me as well, BUT his ex is pulling him back with all she has got! He asked to be plutonic, becuase he doesn't know what to do - go with the new girl he really hit it off with or give the ex of many years another go? She is threatening to move here to make it work with him, once she graduates in May, but he is not even sure they could make it work. Still, he is not 100% emotionally moved on.

Do I just wait and hope he and her don't work out, or do I give him a reason to make up his mind?! Meaning, spend plutonic time with him so that he is reminded of his other option? What to do???

I saw my ex walking with a female friend of his and I broke down. I don't care that they are friends, he can have female friends but what hurt me was the way they were. It reminded me of the past. The painful aspect. I tried not to let it bother me but everytime I saw them walking together, it began to cause me more and more pain. I tried avoiding them but today I don't know what happened. I just completely lost it and cried (alone). So later I told him that I don't care if he is friends with her at all but that if he saw me while walking with her, if he could just go slower so I would get to the classroom before him and avoid seeing them.

Am I selfish for asking him to do that for me? He said he would. Do you think he thinks ill of me now?

Be nice. If you think it was a mistake, say it in a nice way. I don't think he had to do it, I just asked him if he would please do it.

I was dating a guy for about 8 years and we had a really bad breakup, I was studying overseas and my really good friend was hanging out with him (she was my friend initially not his). They both would text each other it was just weird. She asked me if I cared if they did hangout at his parties or whatever (she had a bf) I said no i dont care its fine. At that time i was so devasted from the break up that I just wanted to see what he was doing and wanted her to spy on him and disregarded the fact that my best friend was hanging out with my ex. Well it started to bother me and i told her to stop and she did without hesitation. I feel like i can't trust her now, how do i become the bigger person and let it go...i feel like im reminded all the time and have distanced myself from her because i have toxic feelings when im with her but I dont want to cut her out of my life because she was honest and upfront with me and i love her. I really dont know what to do.
