In business we write a MOU to communicate expectations clearly. So much of the problems in these often perplexing and confoudning times of relationships evolves around expectations, trust, and breaking assumed contract. If there is a stated position and even better... consequences, it would seem to resolve a lot of matters. Here's an example for which you can improve I'm sure. It doesn't have to be legal.

There are so many flavors of relationship now, it's baffling.

Bond: Each will float a $100 bond to be held in escrow. Violation of contract prior to disbanding relationship results in forfeiture of bond. In event one party has mis represented their position, they forfeit their bond.

I am not saying have a lawyer draw this up, that it can't be changed or someone change their mind, nor is it legally binding. I'm saying... communicate and be honest. Other topics like... sex before marriage, living together and such seem appropriate.

Not everyone wants to live together before marriage. Some people will not do so for religious reasons, some are still living at home with parents, not everyone is in a position to afford a home of their own, etc. If living together is something that you would consider, when do you think is the right time to have the discussion with your partner and start shopping for that apartment or "cute little house?"
