I've heard many times before a woman will say 'it was an accident' when they fall pregnant.

The thing I find very odd about that is, birth control pills are like 99.99999% effective, yet many women who claim to be using protection such as that are still falling pregnant.

And surely that's due to negligence, either conveniently 'forgetting' to take a pill or by being 'careless' and not taking it on time.

My friend is a guy, and his girlfriend is now pregnant. There was no talk of kids, or coming off protection as he's busy trying to get his degree, in order to get a better job.

He only started his degree in September, and his girlfriend walked in with a positive pregnancy test in early January, and he said he just sat there shocked and said next to nothing. Obviously with his girlfriend being pregnant, he'll need to drop out of college and get a job to support her and the child.

Sure, he admits it takes two to make a baby, but I can't help but feel as if this has been a tactic to tie him down. And I can't help but feel this is such a selfish move that more and more women seem to be making these days.

I'm genuinely quite worried for my friend, surely guys should have a say in when they want to have a baby. It shouldn't just be down to the girl.

He invites me out to things or over all the time. In fact I may be the first person he actually invites. But I frequently am not the only person and he generally has other people around (if they aren't he has to give me several excuses as to why it's only us and why I may be better to have around anyway). Even though we may be around other people, he frequently tried to get me away from the group or at least keep me around after everyone leaves so we can talk for a while. And while he doesn't seem to want to hang out just one on one, when it's just us hanging at one of our houses, it takes me at least 5-6 tries for me/him to leave, because he always starts up another conversation.
He also takes me around all his friends and family, but doesn't really invite any other girls with us.
Around people he generally prefers to sit next to me, and he sits with his knee touching me, frequently has his arm on me (like smooshed up against me, never around me), and often lays his head on my shoulder (but only for a moment, like when someone makes a joke at his expense or a bad play happens in the game). And he always finds ways to touch me, like holding my hand for a moment when I hand him something. But if it's just us, he will keep a lot of space and rarely gets close enough for either of us to make a move. He also spends a lot of time looking at me/blowing up the eye contact.
When he finds something he thinks I will like or will interest me, he blows up my phone. However on most days its radio silence from him.
I have tried to get him alone, let him know of things that interest me, touch him in ways that communicate my interest, yet he never makes a move. The most I get is a random high five as a goodbye.
If I mention another guy in my life, or even just a celebrity he gets super defensive, jealous and pouts. But I've given him two years to make a move and while I wouldn't mind making one I don't want him to get uncomfortable.
