The other day my boyfriend told me that he loved me for the first time. We dated last year, but things didn't work out. We remained friends, and grew closer between then and now. We've now only been dating two weeks and he told me he loved me. Is it just me or is that a little soon to be saying that? I know I have strong feelings for him but I didn't feel prepared to tell him I loved him back so I didn't, I can't say something I don't mean. Instead of responding I just kissed him and prayed he forgot that I didn't answer. Was that wrong of me to do? Should I bring up the topic and reassure him that I don't not love him, I just don't know if I do.

Hello thanks first for taking the time to read my story. I live in NJ and African American culture (yes I'm black) grows everyday and one thing that is pretty big in our culture is roller skating ( 4 wheels ). I go to this roller rink in nj that is originally a black rink but different people come to skate, since I have been skating since I was 5 so i meet new people all the time. So then that's when I met this guy I really liked not just for his looks but for his personality and skating techniques. I really never had a conversation with him but i knew his mom and I just knew him through mutual friends. Well one day some girl I met at the rink and I were talking about guys we like and we would point them out and so I was young so I just yelled out to her crush " hey, she likes you ! " and that's when things went left, she decided I'm gonna do the same thing to me and told the guy I liked the same thing which made all of us laugh and giggle. But I guess he took it seriously and so the next time I came he walked pass me saying "I don't like you" I said " I don't like you either". I felt like my world had fell apart and that's when I stopped roller skating for a really long time, recently I went back roller skating with one of my good friends and we were ready to turn up but as soon as I walked through the door their he was tall nice curly hair and much more advanced in roller skating then I would have never been. I ignored him for a while but I still had a strange feeling in my stomache, my friend and I skated for awhile I still was checking him out and trust me he looked better than ever before. I just recently found our that another one of my good friends is his cousin and my dad is also good friends with His parents. I think I might like him again but I'm not too sure I can't stop thinking about him and it turns my stomach inside out. I would really love some advice on this problem that is distracting me.
