Okay, so years back in college I was teaching after school and working a retail job. I had the kindergarten class and they were always making me stuff and I always proudly wore it because it made them smile. One of my girls made me a rainbow bracelet which I then proceeded to wear into my retail job. An hour into it, this lady approached me and asked about the bracelet. I told her a student made it for me, and she basically went off on this homophobic tirade which was getting increasingly aggressive. When she stopped for two seconds, I told her, though it's none of her business, I wasn't gay and that I wore the bracelet because it gave my student joy and that what I thought she said was very wrong. She wouldn't leave the matter alone, and I eventually told my boss and stepped to the back until she left.

From that moment, I've never worn anything with rainbow on it because the ladies reaction really kind of did scare me and made me sad to think this probably has happened to gay persons who have proudly worn their rainbow pride symbols.

So when you see someone wearing rainbow (with no obvious references to gay Pride), do you think they're gay or just that they like the colors or design?

Okay so I am a college freshman and my TA is a sophomore for my freshman experience class so he’s supposed to help us out when we need it. I've had a suspicion that he likes me lately just because whenever he is talking to ‘the class’ he keeps eye contact with me and doesn’t look away and I thought it was a little weird. one day we were walking out of class and we ended up walking together and he asks me if Im going to get food and I told him I was and apparently so was he. I tried to branch off a few times but whenever I did he would ask “aren’t you getting food?” then I said yeah then went his way. So we get there and I told him I went one place and he wanted to go to another so when he was walking away I said “bye nice talking to you” but he says back “Ill meet back up with you” so I’m waiting for my food and he calls me over to a table and I go sit. We talk about random things and freshman stuff and asks me if Im going to the football game, I told him I didn’t know and said I didn’t have anyone to go with and he said “you’re welcome to come with me and my friends” then we keep talking and he tells me “whatever you need I’m here. Just text me and I got you” then he holds out his pinky and literally pinky promises he’ll help me out if I need it. Also he said his class started at 2:30 and he didn’t leave until 2:28.

That was a few days ago, today I texted him asking if he had any tips for studying for an exam (because thats his job) and he turned that into “I’ll help you study!” I kinda tried to shut it down like “oh you don’t have to Im sure you have other things to do” but he said he didn’t care. So he said he had work to do today but tomorrow he could, but then later he invited me to his apartment off campus at like 7:30pm. I told him “I don’t have a car so Ill stay home” and he offered to come get me. He said he'd have me back by 10 but I still thought it was weird. I told him “thats okay you don’t have to” and he hasn’t responded. what do you think that is?
