I am in my early twenties. Never had a boyfriend. I have no friends. I only interact with co-workers. And that isn't too often. I'm very quiet. So I try online dating. I've been on Match, POF and OKC.

I try online because it's so hard for me to open up to guys I like in person. Plus they dont seem to notice me. I've been told I'm attractive. But I've either a) liked a guy and it didn't work out or b) the ones I like don't like me back and the ones that like me I don't like back.

People say im either too picky. I don't put myself out there enough. I'm shy. All that stuff. Which may or may not be true. I JUST WANT TO FIND A GOOD GUY.

Is online really a bad idea? I mean I know of couples that meet online and it works out great. Why can't I have that same story. That's just the way it is I guess. They say my luck will be a lot better in person but if that was the case, I feel someone would have approached me and mutual feelings would have been reciprocated. Every girl I've known has had a boyfriend. Gets attention from guys they seem to like. I am just pathetic.

Am I setting myself up for failure? I have learned to maintain a balanced diet and love myself (to an extent). I feel I am doing everything I can to make my life better. I just want to find love but I just don't seem to have what it takes.

I'm starting to think I'm unlucky in love. I've never had a boyfriend. People tell me that I'm attractive. In high school, guys didn't ask me out. When I took classes in college, guys didn't show interest in me. People seem so shocked when they hear I've never had a boyfriend. The few times I have gone out in person, it was a weird guy that approached me. I'm either too picky or just "not putting myself out there enough". I've tried free and paid dating sites, dates either go no where, things fizzle out or things just don't go as planned. It really sucks. I don't have many friends, mostly acquaintances. I have a hard time trusting people from all the negative scenarios I've encountered in my life. Why would no guy want to date me? Am I actually attractive?

There's this guy who I have a crush on (we're both 19) and he shows signs that he likes me back but he seems pretty shy. I recently requested him on FB and he instantly accepted it.

I really want to get to know him but whenever I'm at college, I hang around my friends which makes it harder for myself/him to approach each other. Therefore I was thinking of FB messaging him instead.
