A federal judge in Texas declared the male-only draft unconstitutional. Now, they're saying that women should also be required to sign up for the draft since we allow women in combat roles.
Men are required to sign up when they turn 18 and are denied some services like government assistance, some jobs, and in some states even ID.

My brother was actually in combat, and he and his friends (who are also combat vets) do not agree that women should be drafted, and that women shouldn't even be in combat. (And no, he's no feminist. He's actually very anti feminism in the US. They just feel that the average woman cannot handle the stresses of combat, and they'd be too much of a distraction. And no, not "sexual" necessarily, but more like caveman instincts might kick in and they'll do everything in their power to protect the woman, even at the cost of the rest of the group.)

So do you think the US should require women to register for the military draft? Or should it only be men? Or should we get rid of the requirement altogether (no draft for men or women)?
(Don't worry, women aren't required to sign up for it, yet. This was just a decision the judge made, but it is a possibility that it could be enforced in the near future.)

If I see someone crying, and I know them, my first instinct is to hug them.

Then, many times, when I know the reason for the pain they are going through, I will start to cry with them too, while telling them that everything is going to be ok.

How do you handle it when you see others in emotional pain?

Am I the only one that does this or seems to care?
