My ex friends with benefits and I had the best sex I have ever had. Then he got a girlfriend, they were kind of rocky and one day he said that they got into a big fight and he isn't sure if they are getting back together. Well one morning not too long after this, I was about to go out and he called and asked what I was up to. We ended up getting breakfast together and then sleeping together. Last I heard he had broke up with his girlfriend, but apparently they got back together. I feel bad, and I guess he felt a little bad because he admitted it to me afterwards. He was asking if we are bad people and I just want to slap him because he is making himself look terrible. I really want to ask him how many girls he's cheated on just so I can get a scope on whether or not he is a sleeze bag or just made this mistake once or twice. I don't know why it matters, but I am just upset and curious. I would not have slept with him if I had known they were still together.

My boyfriend told me last night that he thinks I shit talk him and demonize him behind his back whenever we have a fight when that couldn't be farther from reality. This was all based on a misunderstanding about what one of my friends told him, she told him things I said about myself but she thought I meant they were about him. So this came across like I was shit talking him and he admitted he hasn't really trusted me since! I would never go around saying bad things about him because I only want people to think the best of him. But sometimes when we argue I do ask my mom or best friend for advice, not ranting about him just asking for advice is that wrong? Usually their advice ends up helping me resolve the argument.. I do keep serious things between the two of us I only ask for advice on stupid stuff like "How do I nicely ask him to not leave his laundry in piles all over the floor?" and that's the extent of it. But 90% of the time whenever I talk about I'm to other people I am bragging about how great he is and I wish he'd trust me on this! It just scares me that a small understanding where I never even said anything about him and was only talking about myself could turn into him not trusting me for nearly a year! I explained all of this to him and asked him to confront me about it right away instead of bottling it up for months, and getting more and more upset over something that isn't even true. But it still feels like he'd rather believe my friend's mistake over me and still refuses to trust me. So now I feel like shit and don't know what to do. It just sucks that just because my friend misheard what I said and told him thoughtlessly what she thought I said my whole relationship is rocky. Maybe if he'd asked someone for advice they ould have told him to just confront me and ask me about it before it got this bad and he started resenting me.

Basically, I think mine and my ex's break up has been a huge mistake. I miss him, and I've really taken him for granted.

Its a whole year later and STILL despite not being in contact, my heart races and my face lights up when I see him.

However I've kept on saying things that have only got him angrier with me, so he literally never contacts me. Unless it's Christmas or my birthday.

We've gotten to the point when he said we should keep contact to a bare minimum, which means I literally never see him and we practically never speak.

Tonight, he'd been working, and my sister and I ran into him during his shift (in a store). He waved, but continued on with what he was doing. Then, dropped his pen knife on the floor, so my sister picked it up for him.

I decided to say hi. He seemed cheerful enough? And spoke to us both briefly. Then he started talking about cooking and all the things he made me when we were together adding in 'I am a pretty good cook, Emma, aren't I?' To which I admitted.

However, after a very brief chat, he said he had to get back to work.

He can seem pleasant towards me, but at the same time, he seems I don't know... a little melancholy. He never really tends to laugh around me anymore, however, he's smiled a few times in my presence recently. He tends to be quiet and whenever I ask how he is its 'fine' 'OK' or 'meh' so yeah... he seems happy around everyone else. So whys he so dismal with me? :/

also, how the heck am I meant to know how he TRULY feels when he goes on like this?
